It's one of my favorites from Robert Palmer. He was a great singer.

LOVED the Power Station... At the time, they were too tight, funky, an hard for their own good... Everyone else was into shit like A-ha or the Hooters or even Arcadia... I MISS ROBERT.

thumbs up! I like it, i remember when i got the promo copy of Power Station and was like.. damm this shit is hot and to top it off the remake of T-Rex's Get It On (Bang A Gong). Unlike the Honeydrippers EP, The Power Station went on to make more LP's. Anybody remember Tony Thompson of Chic was to replace John Bonham of Zeppelin. Damm what a circle Thompson and Edwards of Chic were associated with The Power Station and Rodgers of Chic associated with the Honeydrippers.

Between Thompson Drumming, Palmer's Vocals, and Taylor's Guitar Solos; this group was hard act to contend act back in the day. The not only rock hard but they was Funky. Actually, I digged the whole album along with cut that was the title of the thread.

That song has THE MOST KICKASS intro in the history of recorded music.

Ain't it wild how the best bands tend to be amalgamations of established artists yet they never stay together to continue this newly found good shit?:

Power Station
Lucy Pearl
LSG (LeVert, Sweat, Gill)
The Traveling Wilburys

More artists should do this just to shake shit up. Can anyone name anymore groups like that?

That cassette got lots of play on my walkman. I'm surprised I'm not deaf now from constantly blasting "Some Like It Hot" and "Bang A Gong". "Harvest For the World" was another favorite with alternating voices of Robert Palmer and Andy Taylor. Other faves were "Communication" and "Murderess"~ She likes to go for the jugular. That was a great superband of that time with Bernard Edwards and Tony Thompson of Chic, Robert Palmer, John Taylor and Andy Taylor of Duran Duran.

Nikster

I used to have that album on cassette, and later on CD (I lost both moving tho sigh )

Next payday, I am getting the deluxe version of this cd...it comes with ALL the videos.

So far, I have turned one of the kids I work with into a Duran fan...I'm sure he'll love this!
