Has anyone heard why Remy Shand has disappeared? Is he out of the music business? His offical website hasn't been updated since 2002.

I guess he finally took off that hat and shades of his and become shocked by the fact that there wasn't a black man staring back at him in the mirror.

... nah, seriously speaking. I guess the first album wasn't an enough big of a hit and he's had some difficulties trying to come up with a decent deal for financing the recording of another one. "Neosoul" artists aren't especially well-known for their tendencies to update their websites that frequently, btw.

But I don't have a lot of faith in any of the labels when it comes to marketing the newer R&B/soul musicians. From Remy to Van to Me'Shell et al., the marketing efforts haven't really matched the quality of the product.

Hip-hop rules. Until the kids in the streets want to hear real music again, it will continue to rule.

Such a shame, he's such a talented artist. Good music is so hard to find these days.

No, he didn't. Their first singles came out the same year, but Remy's album was released March 12, 2002. Robin's album was pushed back almost a full year and wasn't released until April 15, 2003

Read my response and you'll see I wasn't wrong, you just misread it. I discovered them both in '02, Remy dropped in early '02, Thicke's single dropped in '02 as well. Thicke's album, which at one time was going to be called Cherry Blue Skies or something of the like, but was eventually titled A Beautiful World, did drop in 2003, as you say, but I didn't say anything about the album, did I?

Or does a single not count as a release?
