Hi-Five Lead Singer Tony Thompson Found Dead http://www.allhiphop.com/...s/?ID=7173
Hi-Five lead singer Tony Thompson was found dead yesterday (June 1) in his hometown of Waco, Texas. Sources told AllHipHop.com that Thompson's body was found outside of an apartment complex around 10:00 pm. He allegedly died of drug overdose, but the cause of death has to be confirmed. Thompson and Hi-Five hit #1 with 1990's "I Like The Way (The Kissing Game)," which was produced by R&B/Hip-Hop producer Teddy Riley and taken from the group's debut, Hi-Five. The album also produced singles like "I Can't Wait Another Minute" and "I Just Can't Handle It." Hi-Five broke up around 1994 but reunited and released a new album The Return in 2006 on Thompson's record label N'Depth. Thompson also collaborated with Port Arthur, Texas rapper Bun-B on his 2006 single "Rock Ya Body," which was produced by Play-N-Skillz. Thompson, was working on new material for an upcoming album as well. ----- I was just listening to his listening to his solo album the other day. RIP...

No, that was Soul for Real ("Candy Rain," "Every Little Thing I Do"). Anyway, that is sad. I saw Hi-Five live. They never made a great album, but the singles were always hot. I still remember the first time I saw "I Just Can't Handle It" on Video Soul. "I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)" is one of Teddy's biggest hits. No problem. OK, so I just put on my Hi-Five playlist. I never really thought about it before, but Tony was probably the only teenaged R&B vocalist of the time who could be considered in Tevin Campbell's league. He really did have a beautiful voice. Wow, I can’t believe this. They were on Wendy Williams last year or earlier this year and she asked which one was on drugs, who was on heroine? They all denied that there was any drug use amongst them. What a shame. RIP Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
