Does this guy do his own writing and/or play any instruments?

I do listen to a few cuts of his while working out.I admit it. Some of his stuff is ok,but I must say that he is wayyy overrated. I did like him in Alpha Dog,but I don't think "superstar" when I think of him.He has been given that title much too fast.His falsetto has too many weaknesses and the majority of his tunes aren't good. I do give credit for liking some ,though.

Ok, so if he plays, why is the majority of the stuff I've heard sound like a total keyboard production. I don't if Timba did his first album, but that didn't strike me with musicianship.

I do like some of his songs, but I'm not understanding the accolades.
He reminds me more of Usher than musician.

I like his stuff. It has definitely improved since he came out with Justified. I like the song he did with Charlie Wilson and Will.I.Am. I didn't care for FutureSexLoveSounds. I thought it was a fair album, but Until The End of Time saves him.
