Stevie Nicks in concert I have to admit - I went to it under protest. I had no desire to see her, much less spend $130 bucks doing it. But I am a good father, so I went.
She was very good. All my preconceived notions about her were wrong. Her band was T-I-G-H-T. All her songs are great rock songs. She was very personable - not a spaced-out white witch at all (although she did wear bat-wing outfits, LOL). The best compliment I can give her is that she is a true professional. So was Chris Issak, who opened the show. His songs are instantly forgettable (to me), but he is a good entertainer. It was a $130 well spent. Kudos to Stevie Nicks.

An amazing artist and I would love to see her in concert. Can't this time around ~ hopefully she'll be near me again. Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran

BLEW ME THE FUCK AWAY. I've been a casual fan with an affinity for a few select songs for a long time. She was always someone I wanted to see. When this tour came up, I figured it was the great opportunity for that. I, too, expected a spaced out phoned in performance from an aging rock goddess. What a fantastic surprise I found. Stevie was sane, centered, gracious and appreciative of the love. And yes, her band and vocalists are top notch -- vocals and guitar who worked with her on "Bella Donna," her solo debut from 1981. And her voice? Amazing. So, so powerful. To see her so together, especially in light of the crazy life she has led was just terrific. Yesterday was the first time since the concert 2 weeks ago that I've listened to something other than Stevie/Fleetwood Mac!!! I'm OBSESSED! And then Chris Isaak... So I forgot he was gonna open the show. And he, too, was delightful. I knew more of his material than I realized and he is a great showman. And sexy, too. All of this at L.A.'s Greek Theater in Griffith Park. What a treat. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista
