Why would anyone expect him to be any good right now? Especially after that "Closet" bullshit. I swear, audiences are straight STARVED if they can appreciate such tripe
Well I guess you'll be Happy to know that Chapters 13 thru 22 is coming out next month (the closet saga continues) I can't believe that he released that bullshit in the first place, AND that people fell for it, AND that he's continuing it!! | |

I miss this R. Kelly era from 1995-1996:
Without a doubt, this was one of the only times he did a start to finish great album! [Edited 6/1/07 8:39am] Check me out and add me on:

He is probably the most overrated artist in the business.
Does he have a good voice? Yes but he wastes it on this bullshit. He hasn't shown any growth lyrically or musically throughout much of his career. He is practically a 40 year old man still writing infantile lyrics to get a rise of of 14-16 year old girls. It's like dude get away from that. He is afraid to get out of that vacuum because he obviously feel he would be labeled a sell out or he would lose record sales. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint | |

Yeah, yeah, yeah...R Kelly's new cd is trash. I wouldn't know for sure as I haven't heard it.
What I want to discuss is the article in June's Essence Magazine with Mary J on the cover (actually, there are two covers...one with her by herself and one with her husband) featuring Mrs. Robert Kelly! That's right R Kelly's now estranged wife of 11 years and mother of his children. Who in the hell besides me, didn't know that little freaky mofo was married all this time? | |

LOL! That would be THE wife, HIS ex-dancer. According to the article she's still dancing. I gotta give it to the brotha, he really knows how to keep things on the Down Low. [Edited 6/1/07 23:10pm] | |

wut styLE DOES HE HAVE R. kelly went from Bobby Brown clone in MGM, to Guy clone in PA, to Jodeci knockoff on his other two LPs, then bit off Bone thugs N Harmony with the speed rap, bit of TQ with the whole rnb gangster, He does shit with it that they didnt do (i.e. Trapped In The Closet, other funny songs); to be honest, yeah, I wish he'd go back to REALLY singing cause the rap-flow is pretty tired - its easy to sing to any kind of beat when you're really just spitting harmonized rap lyrics. And all of the artists you mentioned are great (and my favorites) but lets be honest: all of them have with fell off, broken up or are no longer relevent. | |

----- Maybe R Kelly show focus on the music and leave the comedy to comedians. He has a good voice and he needs to sing to some dance grooves and stop the talking/rapping nosense and act like a 40 year old man. | |
