Seems he's one of the BG vocalists on the Wiz, too, if I listened correctly. Also Quincy related, doesn't he do If I Ever Lose this Heaven? My Legacy

I know that was Al Jarreau, Leon Ware, and Minnie Riperton were trading lead vocals on If I Ever Lose This Heaven, but I don't remember if Luther was singing backgrounds or not...I know he's all over Quincy's "Sounds...And Stuff Like That" album ('78), and Once again, he towers above all the others.... ... Never Too Much She Loves Me Back However, my favorite Luther Vandross is the work he did with Change on "Searchin'" and the production work he did for Aretha Franklin on "Jump To It" and "Get It Right". I also like his work with the BB&Q Band. See, I bet y'all had forgotten that Luther had a funky side since he is mainly known these days only for his boring songs of the late 1980s and 1990s. so,you're gonna sit up here and pretend that you don't like any of his slow songs?? Come on....I ain't buying that Every Luther fan appreciates his slow jams and ballads! Maybe one or two. The main one that comes to mind that I like is "A House Is Not A Home". The three Luther Vandross albums I have, I purchased strictly because I wanted a particular fast song that was on the album. Andy is a four letter word.

Vandross wrote "Everybody Rejoice" for the 1975 Broadway musical and 1978 movie The Wiz. He also appeared as a choir member in the movie. cool It would be odd if you were a Luther fan without liking any of his ballads, lol. He was the ultimate soul balladeer! I like his uptempo jams too...my favorites are "Never Too Much","Sugar And Spice","I'll Let You Slide" and "Stop To Love".I notice that he did more fast songs at the beginning of his career (early 80s).By the time the 90s rolled around,it was hard to find alot of uptempo stuff on his albums.

Most people NEVER mention this song (tho it was a hit) when discussing Luther, but my #1 favorite song by him is "How Many Times Can We Say Goodbye." The duet he did with Dionne Warwick

On the first album Luther ever put out with his name, this first song on the thang was titled "Funky Music (Is A Part Of Me)" ...though that was a part which was seen sparingly... "Say I'm lookin' at you, from the corner of my eye..."
