a post-disco scandal sort of like that La Diva album of Ree's and Another Taste album of A Taste Of Honey's only song I could stomach was "In The Still Of The Night"  because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." | |

a post-disco scandal sort of like that La Diva album of Ree's and Another Taste album of A Taste Of Honey's only song I could stomach was "In The Still Of The Night" Thing is, A Taste Of Honey IS a disco group,,,and I can even stomach the idea of Candi doing disco(considering that she's a soul singer). But I just can't stomach the idea of Aunt ReRe doing disco,,,,the whole 'La Diva' bullshit sounds like she was going with the motion, just to get a hit yunno lol it wasn't right up her alley. Whereas Candi sounded natural doing it. | |

I feel you, Ree+disco=scandal and yes A Taste Of Honey was a disco group but around the time Another Taste came out ('79 I think) disco was outta there besides that self titled one (w/ "Boogie Oogie") was way more FUNKY than disco there were all of maybe 3 disco-ish songs the rest was pure bass guitar funk & balladry I love those girls

I heard a Wonderlove mention, is it a Stevie Wonder pinned gem? naw, I don't think Stevie has anything to do with the track (I used to have the vinyl... but I got rid of it because "STWY" is the only song I liked from there) but we have Niecy & Lani on the BG vocals and some other folks I'm kind of wishing I would have held on to that copy I had but the album cover was VERY worn I have "Summer Time With You" on mp3 if you'd like to hear it (I ripped it from the vinyl so the quality is not all that great) because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." | |
