This song (along with All Nite) gets a wonderful reaction in clubs.

One of the clubs I go to predictably plays this to get people amped up - and Gwen Stefani's Wind It Up to clear the floor at 2:30 AM. lol

I didn't like it at all really. And the video was even worse. And how come so many people call it "S.E.X."? confused

It's a fan acronym (yes, it should be S.Ex.)

I didn't mind it. I'm not sure that "Call On Me" and that were the best way to lead off the album though.

Yeah, I know, it just seems kind of silly. And unfortunately draws even more attention to one of the major problems of her late career sad

It's a badass jam. The one thing that's ironic with Janet and her uptempo stuff(hell, even her remixed slow stuff) is that radio ignores them these days, yet they're always really successful in the clubs. That's what happened with "So Excited", as was the case in 2004 with "All Nite". Neither made a dent with mainstream audiences, yet were successful as club songs and can probably be favorites for your typical night vultures.

I guess that's the thing with Madonna, Janet and even Britney Spears..if the Hot 100 ignores them(though Madge has had better luck than either Janet or Brit these days), club culture will always embrace them.

imo of course. The production, the lyrics and let's not forget the memorable rap from Khia barf

Janet needs to bring a beat back into her "dance" oriented tracks.

Another problem with the song. I got my hopes up too high when they said Janet was going to release a great dance track after Call on Me. But the homophobe that Jemaine Dupri is, he would be too scared of Janet appealing to a gay audience. confused

i'm in two minds about this one.

it's not bad but its not that great either.

i like the beat (the record scratching is pretty cool) and the "act bad, talk dirty..." bit

But some of the lyrics are a bit to explicit, the video is terrible too...

Yeah I'm sure he got some up there while showering in jail. He does have a great ass though. I'd rather stare at that as opposed to his face.

His ass must be tight because of all that gym work he does. Muscular asses are the best to pound

P Diddy is anything but a homophobe, he spoke out against homophobia in some charity event or something.

I've never seen JD say anything against gay people..

I didn't think it was bad, didn't it was great (like "All Nite"). I liked it, That's the way I felt about "20 YO" in general...it's just kind of there. With DJ, there are highlights and weak ass tracks. I think the great (if you consider the Japanese edition) outweighs the bad.

S.E.X should've been a hit and with just a little love from MTV, it wouldn't have hurt.

GREAT TUNE!

Bad single choice, though. It should have been a preview track for the album release, a la TLC's "Silly Ho" to get fans amped up, and then she should have come out with "Enjoy" as the official first single, then "Call on Me," then "With U," the "Get it Out Me."
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

S.E.X was a great track to release maybe not as the first single maybe as the third or somethin and the video was too similar to All nite (Don't Stop). Show me or Do it 2 me should have came out first Enjoy second and Call on me should have never been made.
