Jam of the Evening: "I Just Want To Be" by Cameo This is one of my favorites from Cameo and it's a sho-nuff ass-shaker.
Give it up for "I Just Want To Be". Andy is a four letter word. | |

An all time classic for sure, but of course I only ever jam on the 12" version which clocks in at 6.19 and the not the 5.14 edit version. |

"I Just Want to Be" was Cameo's breakthrough song, becoming the group's first hit on the Billboard R&B Singles chart (peaking at No. 3 in Fall 1979). Years later, it's still one of my favorite jams by Larry Blackmon & Co.
