Shouldn't they be called 9,999 Maniacs?

I mean, if Natalie Merchant isn't in the band anymore, that's a pretty visible hole in the band, right? Even if there's a replacement singer. Shouldn't they do a census and change the number in the band name? I'm kind of serious about this, sadly. redface

Seriously, I thought the Maniacs disbanded once Natalie went solo.....no one could replace Natalie.....did they seek a replacement for her?

My Maniac knowledge is apparently out-of-date.....

No after Natalie left, 10,000 Maniacs continued for a while, they did replace her with another female and put out another cd, it sounded like the Maniacs musically but was missing the usual political twist that Natalie put on the songs. From what I remember the single wasn't half bad.

Where did Natalie disappear to anyway? Is she still stalking Michael Stipe?
