It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

That is 1 of my all time favs from Sly.
Sly and the Family Stone was one of my biggest influences. The 7 album remastered set is beautiful. Of course, I still have all of my vinyl, but the remastering on these CDs is magnificent. Actually, the ONLY good album by Eric Benet, 'True To Myself', has a Roger Troutman produced cover of "If You Want Me To Stay", and it's KILLER. Definitely one of my faves from Sly, or anyone. And yes it does seem to be a blueprint for many prince songs (although I've always thought Dorothy Parker was more based on Family Affair). | |

'Fresh' is likely my favourate Sly album - so many good tracks, just a shame it peters out at the end imo.
'If You Want Me to Stay' is a definite classic, along with 'In Time' and the often over-looked 'Thankful and Thoughtful', one of my fav Sly tracks, which, with its bluesy feel and interesting lyrics, doesn't seem to get the respect it deserves imo. I love the somewhat 'homemade' feel of this record. | |

There's this documentary called "Skin I'm in",
and during the endcredits Sly sits by the piano and sings "If you want me to stay" so incredibly soulful. /peace Manki | |
