Green Day to do 'Idol' finale?

Just heard from a very reliable source.

They are on board to sing 'Working Class Hero'.....

never thought this would happen!

There's so much wrong with that...


A) Idol is representative of everything that's wrong with the music business

B) Green Day apparently still thinks of themselves as a punk band. Not only were they stretching it to begin with, but going on AI incredibly un-punk. On the other hand, it just migfht be so un-punk as to become punk again. But still...ew.

C) Working Class Hero? Are you fucking kidding me? Playing this song on a show like AI is so wrong. John's gonna be spinning in his grave.

It's a direct reflection of what's ailing the whole music industry. There is no radio play anymore like there used to be to sell your music (CDs) to a mass audience - the only way to do that is to appear on TV - and especially a show like American Idol to reach your target 'younger' audience.
