Big, big Scott Walker fan here, littlesmedley.
Generally speaking the notion of a 'love song' makes we want to vomit in disgust, but the sun ain't gonna shine anymore is pretty undeniable. How was that documentary? I saw a thread about it on another site; from what I could gather it sounded like it was mostly built around interviews with other artists. [Edited 5/24/07 3:54am]

[Edited 5/24/07 3:54am] And I dig Can No, there was plenty of interview with Scott himself, in fact it was one of the best music docs i've seen in years, very thorough. And the other artists were all top notch - Bowie, Jarvis, Damon Albarn, Radiohead, Johnny Marr as well Scott's producers and arrangers past and present. Oh, and Lulu.

Oh, I see!
Love songs must be cheesy and include the line "I love you, baby"!

Love songs must be cheesy and include the line "I love you, baby"! My choices don't. In fact, two of my songs don't even have the word "love" anywhere in the lyrics.

3 of my favorites at the moment...
I Only Have Eyes For You (Harry Warren - Al Dubin) My love must be a kind of blind love I cant see anyone but you And dear, I wonder if you find love An optical illusion, too? Are the stars out tonight? I dont know if its cloudy or bright cause I only have eyes for you, dear The moon may be high But I cant see a thing in the sky cause I only have eyes for you. I dont know if were in a garden Or on a crowded avenue You are here, so am i Maybe millions of people go by But they all disappear from view And I only have eyes for you Laura (David Raksin - Johnny Mercer) Laura is the face in the misty light Footsteps that you hear down the hall The laugh that floats on a summer night That you can never quite recall And you see Laura on a train that is passing through Those eyes how familiar they seem She gave your very first kiss to you That was Laura but she's only a dream The Look Of Love (Burt Bacharach - Hal David) The look of love Is in your eyes The look your smile cant disguise The look of love Is saying so much more Than just words could ever say And what my heart has heard Well it takes my breath away I can hardly wait to hold you Feel my arms around you How long I have waited Waited just to love you Now that I have found you Youve got the look of love Its on your face A look that time cant erase Be mine tonight Let this be just the start Of so many nights like this Lets take a lovers vow And then seal it with a kiss I can hardly wait to hold you Feel my arms around you How long I have waited Waited just to love you Now that I have found you Dont ever go ... tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. meow85 said: This is an easy one, folks. What're your top 3 favourite love songs of all time? You tell me yours, I'll tell you mine.
In no particular order: "At Last" -Etta James "Your Song" Elton John "Be My Yoko Ono" Barenaked Ladies -because love can be goofy too. I ve never hear At Last by Etta James, but I love Xtina´s live version on the Stripped DVD! That brings me to tears. All I can think of right now is: You are so beautiful - Joe Cocker "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

That's where I first heard it.
