Billy Idol - Rebel Yell - Purple Rain influence vice versa Check out the Billy Idol video "Rebel Yell"-
http://www.youtube.com/wa...oeY7MkCm0c I caught it this morning on VH1 Classic and it instantly reminded me of the performance pieces in the Purple Rain film, BASICALLY it has the same type of camera angels, lighting, ect, right down to the audience and hands on the bottom of the screen. Rebell Yell visually could have fit RIGHT in the Purple Rain movie. All it's missing is the MC at the begining... "....ladies and gentlemen....Billy Idol..." It got me thinking that either Rebel Yell was influenced by the performance pieces in Purple Rain or vice versa, What do you all think? | |

billy idol said on vh1 storytellers that he was
fascinated with princes look and music when he seen prince in bikini briefs(probably dirty mind tour) so billy dressed the same way and when he went to perform in some club. club ownere told him that he is forever banned there hehehe. 
he also said under the influance of prince billy wanted to bring sex element to punk,because punk isn't sexy. | |
