American Idol May 22nd-23rd: Blake vs. Jordin(SPOILER ALERT)

I've decided to start this thread early to get people's opinion of tonight's finale. Will it be Mr Blake or Ms Jordin? Who's your pick and why? When the show's over, what did you think of the performances? What did you think about this season? This is your spot for EVERYTHING American Idol!

Paula Abdul breaks nose in dog mishap
'Idol' judge fell trying to avoid stepping on her Chihuahua; will appear on show this week
The Associated Press
Originally published May 22, 2007
LOS ANGELES // Paula Abdul broke her nose over the weekend after she fell while trying to avoid stepping on her Chihuahua, her publicist said Monday.

Abdul was recovering from the mishap and will appear on "American Idol" Tuesday and its season finale Wednesday, publicist David Brokaw said.

"She's a little sore, but is doing fine," he said.

Abdul told the syndicated entertainment TV show "Extra" she tore cartilage in her nose and fractured her toe.

"I took a nasty fall ... trying not to hurt my dog. I bruised myself on my arm ... my chest, my waist all the way down to my hip. All from my little chubby Tulip," Abdul said.

The dog was not hurt, Brokaw said. ( i guess that's not Paula lol )

Blake reminds me of a young Sting. Jordin is cute but nothing special.
The real winner is Melinda.

I really wish Melinda had one. She's the best singer the show has ever had. Even her worst performances were pretty good, and you can't really say that about any other past contestant.

That said, I'm not sure who will win. Jordin is obviously the more talented singer. On the other hand, Blake is the more talented/interesting/creative performer. He's really kind of an orginal. For American Idol anyway. Now that Melinda's gone, I wouldn't really disappointed with either of them.

I have a feeling that Sanjaya is the William Hung of this season. Not dreadful to that extent, but more the butt of jokes than someone who's going to go on to have a successful career. He'll continue to have notoriety for a few years, but I don't think anything will come of it. Jordan, Blake, Melinda, LaKisha... they all have a shot at sticking around.

There's no "L" big enough to make an LOL that would express how funny this is.
She's probably so high, she's forgotten her dog died years ago.

Truth be told, I'm rooting for Jordin. I like how she's grown throughout the weeks and she has a great personality, which is something you need with a competition like this. I like Blake too and if he wins, I won't be mad. He's very talented and I can see him having a big future ahead of him, no doubt.

Is anybody as sick of Blake's beatboxing as I am? At first it was cool, I liked it, but now, it's just gotten tiresome for me. Blake is a good singer, he doesn't need to do the beatboxing for every song that he does. My twocents.

I think the first round is a draw. Blake is definitely a performer but he was moving around a lot and it affected his voice. Jordin was great and she picked a good song but her voice was kinda loud, almost like she was screaming. They were about the same. Now on the round 2.

I don't know why she keeps picking those uptempo rock numbers. (Fighter, Hey Baby, Livin' On A Prayer, whatever the Pat Benetar song she did early on). They're definitely her weakest performances.

Round 2: I think it goes to Jordin. Her voice was on point. Blake's song was very good to me but Jordin was just in a groove and she didn't let go. On to the next and last round.

I can't wait to hear what tripe they came up with for the winner's theme song this year. Of course, since it was picked from contest submissions, maybe it won't be quite as cheesy as usual.

i know you saw it that time!

and they really ought to have a camera on his butt with a picture in picture for every one of his performances.

if he really wanted to win, he'd just turn his backside to the camera every time he performed.

Round 3: Without a doubt, Jordin took the title of American Idol with this one. She felt the song as if it were made for her. Simon was on point, overall Jordin takes it but Blake was kickass for Round 1. When Blake did the song, you could tell that it wasn't his kind of song and he didn't hide it. He did the best with what was given to him. I say great effort to Blake but Jordin, with the last 2 performances pretty much did it for her.
