Artists you have seen live who have passed away

Reading Anx's great thread about artists your parents went to see, I noticed a lot of them are sadly no longer with us. Just wondering which artists/band members you saw in concert before they passed. I'll start you off with:

Vaughan Toulouse (ex singer with Department S)
Graham Chapman (former Monty Python guy compered a gig I attended)
Boni Boyer (Prince keyboard player)
Miles Davis
Rob Collins (keyboards - The Charlatans [UK])
Chris Acland from Lush
Kenny Pickett(Singer The Creation)
Timmy Taylor (Brainiac)
David McComb (singer The Triffids)
Curtis Mayfield
Stuart Adamson (The Skids/Big Country)
Maurice Gibb (Bee Gees)
Gregory Hines (the actor compered a concert I attended)
Jim Capaldi (Traffic)
Markus Sandlund (member of Brian Wilson's band, died in the asian tsunami)
James Brown

Haha! Although I have been to 350+ gigs over the years, most with support acts so it's not that high considering. There's about a dozen more who I could mention but they are from bands which are too obscure (more obscure than Brainiac?!?!?! lol )

A year before Luther Vandross died he was touring and he came to the Concord Pavillion...and Gerald LeVert was opening for him.

When I thought about it later, it was really pretty creepy.

I also saw Aaliyah in concert, too.

I saw Elliot Smith and with no disrespect he was awful. There was absolutely no crowd interaction whatsoever and the set lasted about three quarters of an hour or so.

Tell me the story behind the 2Pac show you saw. I'd love to hear details - like a setlist, what year it was, anything you remember, etc. (I know it was probably a while back now.) However, anything you can remember - I'd appreciate.

Plus, I'm with you on wishing to see Michael Hutchence live. neutral

I honestly can't remember the set list. He did one of my favorites though, 'I Get Around'. It was in the early nineties when he was still performing occasionally with Digital Underground. So all of them were together. Cypress Hill was there too. The concert was tight! You could tell how much fun 2 Pac was having on the stage. It was kinda of crazy though because in the middle of Cypress Hills' performance, they literally stopped the whole concert. I was trying to figure out what was going on. Then all of a sudden they announced that it was time for a smoke fest. I was like huh? eek Then they pulled out about a million blunts (j/k) on stage, then I swear more then half of the audience did too. They started passing them out from the stage. It tripped me out! So for about 10 to 15 minutes, no music, they were all getting high. I was like, can we get back to the music please? Besides that, the concert was cool. The highlight was of course 2 Pac passionately delivering his lyrics. Also, I liked the fact that I got to see him during the 'pre-Death Row' days. He seemed more happy.
