Jewel 0304

I like Jewel a lot even her usual folk stuff. But wasn't 0304 a great pop cd, i like her to do something like that once more, maybe more with a hint of R'n'b.
She was good as a sell out. biggrin

'0304' - never heard of it

I checked out 'Goodbye Alice In Wonderland' from the library recently and was pretty amazed at how good it was. Jewel's a pretty talented chick

Yeah i always thought it was funny how people trashed Jewel for doing a POP/Dance record and yet PRAISED Nelly Furtado for her total 360 on LOOSE. Jewel is someone that i got into because of 0304 , i knew her Folk stuff but wasnt into it, i realized later on how good she was, and damn she can sing really well. Her Goodbye Alice record is great too, she is label-less right now and she says she is going to work as an indie artist since her "singer songwriter stuff" doesnt really have a market in todays scene.

I know and Jewels album is better than Nellys Loose. Critics do my head in.

With Jewel I think it was an image thing that really bothered people...
You have this folky, homely, yoddling songwriter one minute. And in the next you have a boobs-out, heavily-produced pop singer.

Those are to pretty big extemes.

With Nelly Furtado, she was never really that extreme on either side.
Before Loose!, she was folky but there were still touches of hip-hop and lots of pop elements on her albums (lets not forget the Timbaland produced 'Turn Out the Light'.

And now with the Loose! album she still hasn't really sexed herslf up like Jewel did. She's the same person, just doing more upbeat music.

As for Jewel, I think the 90's her would drive over the new Jewel in her van/house and then write a heartfelt poem about it neutral
If you will, so will I
