Great album, actually my fave, great artist. The album released after this one, star turtle, is similar. Go Harry! biggrin

Star Turtle is one of my top cds of the 90's. Harry is quite possibly one of the best musicians of the last 20 years, but never really mentioned, not only is a killer piano player, has a great voice, but he kicks ass on drums, and honestly is one of the best BASS players i have seen ever. Amazing live performer, i do like him more when hes got the FUNK and Rock going on, but i totally respect his Jazz/big Band side which is what put him on the map, people tend to forget how many albums hes recorded and what hes sold as an artist, one of the most prolific of the last 15 years. Harry turns 40 on September 11th this year, and to date has recorded 24 albums and has sold close to 40 million in the US alone.

I think U should, its a mixture of Rock and FUNK and its a concept record, the Turtle is actually speaking on the record, well its Harry in a slow deep voice, HMMM maybe Prince listened to this album when he recorded Rainbow Children!

The segues (turtle talk) have that live New Orleans feel you mentioned above. Nice album, although a little less coherent than 'She'.

Thanks for the info about sales December, I always wondered about that...

Yeah i knew he had sold alot, i was surprised about 24 albums, i knew there were alot, but his pace has rarely slowed down. SHE and Star Turtle freaked out alot of people that were used to him as a big band guy, But i think it was important to show that side of him since he is a New Orleans guy.

Yes, I heard he played a gig here (in Holland, I guess everywhere he played promoting that album), where about 50% of the crowd just walked out, heads shaking, expecting to hear the 'new Sinatra' and got bass-solo's that lasted for 15+ minutes! Punk-rock!
