Lorenna Mckennit top 10 in honor of Beltain

1. The Bonney Swans
2. Marco Polo
3. All Souls Night
4. Gates of Istanbul
5. Mummurs' Dance
6. Highway Man
7. Santiago
8. The Mystic's Dream
9. The Lady of Shalot
10. The Old Ways

The BEST Celtic singer alive today in my mind. I love the way she has infused the tradition celtic sound with it's roots in Turkish, Spanish, and Oriental Music.

Hey! The concert was great. It took place in the Paramount Theater which is a spectacular!!! historical art deco theater in Oakland. I loved it though it's a little hard to absorb an artist on first hearing. She reminded me A LOT of Tori. She talks a lot. She gives little historical lectures between songs and there's a nice swing from ethnic, folk, harp-playing to rock and roll. I love when the electric guitar would come in and give it all a hard edge.

yay i'm glad you enjoyed her!! Loreena has been recording since 1985 her first album was Elemental and quite sparse and with each successful album she added to her sound til it became what it is today.
