Oh hell! On all the tribute episodes I have ever seen, they play nothing but songs by that particular artist. Hell, the only thing I remember from Minnie is "Loving You" and "Memory Lane". You can't do a whole show on just those two. I'm thinking there's going to be a lot of slow stuff for the dancers throughout the whole show. This sounds very disappointing.

Oh stop it lol Minnie Riperton is GREAT.No,she didn't do alot of funk jams but her music is intoxicating. She deserved a tribute episode. Her death in July 1979 was so tragic. We lost her way too soon.I have several of her albums. She did a very memorable appearance on Soul Train in 1975.She performed her hit "Lovin You" and sang it live....the audience went wild! I get goosebumps watching that performance. She was such an incredible vocalist.

Please tune into this episode, you're gonna be surprised lol it's okay to slow things down a bit,ha ha.

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love the songs "Loving You" and "Memory Lane". I just can't imagine how they are going to fill up the rest of the hour with songs for the dancers because I don't remember her doing any fast songs. There probably won't even be a line dance segment that week and that's my favorite part of the show.

I know what you mean. The guy with the braids in the tights looked horrible. I hated those ballet steps he did on his tippie toes also.

"Soul Train" was a national show so I think some of those dancers did that classical looking shit in hopes of being discovered for a Broadway show or something. We never had anyone dance like that on our local show "Black Gold" except for one person and he was a former "Soul Train" dancer and owned a ballet studio.
