3.A picture perfect example of how talent in the music business these days takes a back seat to marketing and exposure. I'm not gonna say I don't like any of her songs, but damn, if it weren't for her daddy, she'd be nowhere.

I also lost a lot of respect for her when I heard about how she and Daddy Knowles had Sony shelve Amerie's album with "1 THing" on it so they could get "Crazy In Love" out first.

I also heard she's really like, 37 or something like that. Has anyone else heard that?

The majority of the attention she gets is because of her looks. There are individuals that are equally as talented and some that are more talented that don't get the type of exposure she gets because they don't have the right "look".

I found it disturbing that folks appeared to be happy that not only she didn't win an Oscar but Jennifer Hudson won instead. Like that was a slight towards Beyonce. Those are two seperate things. That didn't have anything to do with Beyonce. Beyonce wasn't even nominated. Does folks truly know that Beyonce was sad and or pissed that Jennifer won? How do we know that she wasn't happy for her? Ms. Hudson winning an Oscar isn't going to effect Beyonce's career. And why is it such a crime that Beyonce wears extensions? She's far from the only female who does. I mean, FAR from the only one. She's a cute girl who shows that she's serious about doing what she does. I give her that. Not crazy about her singing but so what? Not crazy about 90% of current pop music's vocals, so...

I don't see why anyone should have to defend not liking Beyonce. Many artists get trashed on this site but as soon as you say something about B her stans want to give you a big lecture. No artist is liked by everyone. Like I said before I think Beyonce is talented and beautiful, I'll admit that, but i'm sick of her and i've never liked her personality. Not everyone has to like her. Accept it.

She's easy to clown, because she's been so popular for so long (as Dab already stated) and because for every ounce of talent she's got she's got equal amounts of dumbassery. Outside of the Dreamgirls soundtrack I don't own a thing by her, but I can understand the appeal to a certain extent.

I wouldn't mind all the overexposure if her music was worth a damn. It's the same ol' of-the-moment pop/R&B/club fluff anybody could sing over.

I believe in Beyonce's talent and I happen to think she's a great performer. However, I didn't see any growth in her sophmore album, and I didnt care for the way the project was rolled out - shooting a video for every song and the way the singles were released. It was a big mess and seemed more focused on promoting her image and beauty, which is where the over-exposure comes in.

Permit me to get controversial: She got to fame and success by acting like one of these Shaniqua-type girls from around the way along with Destiny's Child. Now she's trying to front and act all classy and shit now that she's got some fame and fortune.
