hey in deciding on which "Essential Jacksons" comp i should cop recently, i decided on the one WITH State of Shock on it. lyrically anemic yes, but funky as hell to me. love the track and the guitar work. Hit #3 on the US Charts. not sure what the "buzz" was before hand. Say Say Say was a hit too, and it has aged a little better, i don't own any Beatles so i wasn't expecting anything "deep" from that collab, nice little pop ditty.

I think it came a little too late in both of their careers. I still haven't heard Prince's remix of that one. On the alternative side, Morrissey and Siouxsie's "Interlude" looked like a slam dunk on paper. Then I heard the song.  | |
