Blake's version of Roxanne wasn't that hot but he wasn't bad. In fact, he wasn't bad at all tonight. If things go well, Melinda and Jordin will go to the finals but I won't be mad if Black goes to finals.

Okay, did anybody else groan out loud when Jordan said her favorite song was "Mmm Bop" by Hanson? As soon as Jordan named the song, I said, "Ewwwww!" out loud. I guess the audience felt the same way, because Jordan said something like, "Hey, I'm only 17!" God I hate that song, it gives me a headache.

Pre-ordained. Jordin will win.
They just need to do a fitness makeover on her.

Please! Cut the KID a break. What does her taste in music have to do with her voice? Might as well throw me to the wolves, too, cuz in the right frame of mind I can think Mmm Bop is kind of a cute song. Not anywhere near the top of any list I could ever dream up but I can listen to it. She's young and not yet musically adventurous. She'll learn her way.

Blake and Jordin will go on next week, and Melinda will go home. She was, as always, fantastic this week. I loved her take on Nutbush City Limits. It's rare that somebody can do a Tina song and not have it seem like a drag act or impersonation. It was her night to shine, but I think she may be too old fashioned (i.e., talented) to go on. Perhaps I'll be proven wrong.

I'm thinking it's going to be Blake and Jordin moving to the finals. I don't think Melinda's gonna have that connection with most people, since she always seemed a bit introverted.

For the first time ever, “House” topped its “American Idol” lead-in last night, by the thinnest of margins. It was the first time any “Idol” lead-out has ever built on the reality singing competition, and it comes after weeks of declining ratings for “Idol.”

“House” averaged a 9.2 rating among adults 18-49 last night, according to Nielsen overnights, 0.3 ahead of “Idol.”

While it’s a promising sign for “House,” it’s not so promising for “Idol,” which lost more than a million viewers compared with the previous week and averaged a season-low 23 million last night heading into next week’s season finale. The show also tied last week’s season-low 8.9 18-49 rating, though that did rise when final ratings were released.
