Brown sues Houston in custody fight

Bobby Brown is suing his ex-wife Whitney Houston in a battle over the custody terms he has for their teenage daughter.

According to ETonline, court papers obtained by the website claim that during the couple's break-up, one of the reasons Brown could not respond to Houston's divorce petition was that he was "strapped for cash during this time and could not afford to hire a lawyer".

Brown wants to be granted access to their 14-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, and is said to be "devastated" about losing his rights in the divorce.

The former pop star also wants Whitney to start giving him some cash.

As well as child support for their daughter, he is seeking spousal support after claiming to have been homeless at times since their divorce was finalised on April 24.

Brown was not in court when the ruling was passed giving Houston full custody.

The singer told the court she did not want any financial support from Brown, and reportedly said the couple's daughter could not depend on her father.

Brown's case will be heard in court on June 15.

Well, he ought to be allowed to see his daughter at least

spousal support? Please, Bobby needs to give up on the idea that he's a somebody and start living within his means. Get a job at a supermarket or something and stop spending stupid amounts of money that you have no way of earning.

He should be able to see his daughter. A child should NEVER be denied a relationship with the father.

However, why would he seek child support if he is not the custodial parent? Even if they finallly agree to joint custody, there is really no need for him to receive child support payments.

shucks if it was the other way around and Bobby was the big superstar with money and Whitney was the down-on-her-luck artist with no money, then people wouldn't be riding her hard as they are with Bobby in this thread. If she wanted spousal or child support, people would be like she would be well within her rights, crackish and all too....but because its Bobby, then he shouldn't get spousal support??? Please, why not give him spousal support, he didn't put a gun to Whitney's head saying "Marry Me"...she knew EXACTLY what she was getting into when she married that cat. She knew he had three other kids, she knew he didn't have as much as she did even though at the time, he had a little bit of change at least. So no, I don't feel sorry for her ass in the least. It was her money that bought the drugs that they BOTH used, so hell no. Let her ass pay up.

You are right that lately the media has been going easy on K-Fed but I think that is mainly due to the Britney train wreck. Its like people are wondering if K-Fed was the sane one living with that crazy Britney.
As for Bobby it doesn't seem right that he is walking away from this marriage with financial problems. He should at least have someplace to live. And how does Whitney get full custody? Its not like her past is spotless. What judge in what state handed down this injustice?
