i can't remember the most i've paid to see one band...i shelled out $165 for lollapalooza this summer, but that's gonna be like 150 bands over three days or something insane like that.

my mom once dropped $800 for two 2nd row seats so we could see david bowie up close. i thought it was a little extravagent, but the show was drool

To see anybody in concert?

Right now I'm seriously debating over Erykah Badu. She will be playing The Fillmore next month, and I've never seen her live. When I saw the price, minus ticketbastard charges etc, I couldn't go through with it, but it's still on my mind. If it was $15 less, then no hesitation on my part.

Who would you pay to see for that amount or higher?

Damn! ...and my friends call me cheap! lol
Just don't eat out for a week and boom, there's your 60 bucks

$60 bucks is NOTHING for a ticket especially someone as high calibre as Badu smile I'd easily drop $100 to see her.

$60 seems cheap, I've laid down much more for a ticket than that for an arena show.

a cheap ticket for someone just hitting their prime is one of the best tickets you can get, though. sometimes bloated ticket cost says something about the bloated celebrity you're going to see...a little bit of hungry never hurt any performer.

Exactly, $60 is nothing. But you gotta use your 60 for all it's worth. Try to smoke with Badu. If you go to a show, have FUN!

I hope all you people who pay $60 to see a live show are not the same people complaining about no decent music today. In any major city you can catch some great live shows from bands and performers under the radar for $13 and less.

$60? for what? Does Badu offer special effects or big production perks or does she just rap/sing? If all she's gonna do is sing or rap, she has no business charging $60. That's just greed.

Under the radar acts for $13 is all well and good, but sometimes you want to hear music by one of your favorite artists that you already know shrug

How you spend your money is your prerogative. I just don't think someone who did the same thing for 15 or 20 bucks deserves 60 bucks now just because they're famous. What is she doing on stage now that is so different it warrants that increase? She's only famous enough to charge that much because people paid 15 or 20 when she was nobody. These stars crack me up. People make them famous and they jack the people for doing it. lol

it's the basic economics of supply and demand. you have a product a lot of people want, you get to charge more for it shrug

Where do you live and what kind of car do you drive? I ask because I would like to rob you. You seem to be an easy target.

I'm just kidding, of course. It's just that I laugh when I see performers charge these crazy amounts. Then I see people are willing to pay and I get annoyed that Americans complain about gas prices and high taxes. lol

Oh of course! I think I have all of her releases, but I'm partial to Baduizm and World Wide Underground. I wouldn't consider myself a big fan, just like alot of her songs. Just wanted to see her at least once. I've decided to get the ticket. No need to whine about missing her again. That will be my 3rd big show in June. If I go broke, that will be my excuse.

Just a few years ago 60 seemed kind of high, but now not so bad considering gas prices. I do remember some band ( Survivor? ) from the 80s came through a few years ago and played a Tavern for 5 bucks. lol

I hope you share what you think of the show. Just be open-minded. She's not as unpredictable as say MeShell N'dgeoecello but she doesn't always do a straight beginning middle and end of her songs either. I'm always surprised at how many people either don't know the words to her songs or seem confused by her performances.

As much shit as I was talking not I'm actually thinking about not going falloff I just went to the ticketmaster site & the convenience & "shipping" charges bring that shit up to about $75 eek Now I loves me some Badu, but it's a Sunday night (not a problem for me, but an issue for whoever I might take) & the Fillmore has no seats neutral I dunno, I'm now officially thinking about it... Then again, there might be some mens there lol
