BUSTED!! R KELLY AND USHER STOLE THEIR NEW SONG 'SAME GIRL'!!! i don't know if this is really true
source May 09, 2007. In the world of R&B, stealing music from other artists is commonplace. Last month Beyonce was sued in federal court for recording another artist's work without permission. And now it looks like R Kelly and Usher may be the next to go down. That's because MediaTakeOut.com has learned an up and coming R&B group named Nephu is claiming that they're the original owners of the song 'Same Girl.' A person close to the group reached out to MediaTakeOut.com - and asked us to put Usher and R Kelly On Blast! It all started earlier this year, when members of the group Nephu fell out with their record label. The separation was supposed to be amicable. But a few weeks ago the group learned that their first single - Same Girl - had fallen into the hands of Usher and R Kelly. The insider explains, "[Nephu] has been working so hard to make it ... and their song [was] stolen from vets in the game." The insider continued, "That's the lowest thing that can be done to a group of young black males that [are] on the come up." MediaTakeOut.com listened to both Nephu's version of 'Same Girl' and the R Kelly/Usher version - and the similarities are startling. Check it out for yourselves: usher and r kelly-same girl nephu-same girl "we make our heroes in America only to destroy them"

sadly this means their careers are over...
but more importantly what in the world is usher doing working with r kelly? shouldn't kelly be blacklisted by now? hopefully with the imus fallout folks will start to realize folks need to stay clear of this man. Space for sale...

I’m sorry to say but with a spelling like that I knew they weren’t white males.
As for R. Kelly, everyone still seems to want to work with him. [Edited 5/10/07 9:16am] Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

The writer shopped the song elsewhere after their label didn't select it for their CD. Its business. It happens.

..." The insider continued, "That's the lowest thing that can be done to a group of young black males that [are] on the come up."
I rather meant that the racial mention had absolutely no relevance within the context of this one "insider"'s comment.

I rather meant that the racial mention had absolutely no relevance within the context of this one "insider"'s comment. Perhaps you simply fail to understand the implied "double whammy" of cultural betrayal that was being stated by writer? Your snide comment makes you look out of touch rather than clever. Of course, if you're not a person of color and of a certain urban upbringing, you probably wouldn't get it anyway. Since you decided to make issue of the comment (rather than the deed itself), that leads to the insinuation that you are either NOT a person of color or you are out of touch with how the youth express themselves. Either way, you weren't witty or funny. Also, the dickhead that wrote this was wrong. MediaTakeOut is trash. If there were an internet toilet, this site should surely be flushed.

Why are we surprised that this shit is going on 24/7 these days? with the advancement of the net and the fact that anyone can make a beat now, im surprised this isnt going on more. Especially in Mainstream RB which is really nothing more than POP, u can look at the writing credits on a song and theres like 40 people listed, everyone from the "sampler" to the guy working the board, and then you see the singer listed, however i think honestly, the artists that claim to be "writers" nowadays, and we know their names, maybe write about 20% of their stuff, maybe less, the rest is supplied to them by label people and producers and god knows where they "lifted" them from, so 9 times out of 10 you have artists putting themselves down as a writer when all they did was maybe write a hook or a line. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Just ask songwriter C-Lo Green. When his song Don't Cha didn't work out for Tori (Damn, forgot her last name!!!), He gave it to The Pussycat Dolls. The rest is music history. [Edited 5/10/07 18:18pm]
