Amy Winehouse vs. John Legend (referee: Jimi Hendrix) Recently I listened to John Legend's new album 'Once again' and I heard a resemblance between his 'Slow dance' (#7) and Amy Winehouse' 'He can only hold her' (#10). After reading the liner notes, both mentioned using a sample of 'She's a fox (now)'. This reviewer also noticed the similarities: http://www.sputnikmusic.c...view_10730.
Apparently it's a song by the Icemen - (My girl) She's a fox, with a young Hendrix on guitar and vocals: http://www.earlyhendrix.c...icemen.htm. You can listen to a snippet of the song here (from allmusic.com): http://www.allmusic.com/c...xvesldte~T. So, what do you think? And, which song do you prefer?

I like both but im going to have to go with Amy's because i prefer her use of the sample and the lyrics are stronger and stay with you
Whereas HCOHH was one of the stronger cuts on BTB, SD was one of Johns weakest on Once Again. that's how I look at it

I recognized the horn sample immediately when i was listening to BTB, but I wasnt aware it was a Hendrix sample.
