I liked Michael Jackson but I didn't think he was all that. I prefered him as part of "The Jacksons".
Michael was too damn sweet. I was more into Prince, he was a bitch. Andy is a four letter word.

Michael was too damn sweet. I was more into Prince, he was a bitch. And BTW, Prince never had any problems getting women while he was wearing the SAME make-up they were wearing!

I know quite a lot of guys who thought MJ was absolutely "great" before all the BS. But I agree with Vain MJ was naturally very sweet looking.

Michael was too damn sweet. I was more into Prince, he was a bitch. You are too much vainandy! When I was a kid, during Thriller and Bad, I wanted to be MJ. He was my favorite and his moves just blew me away, Even him changing colors couldn't move me away from him, he was the man to me. That died once Dangerous came out and I saw the purple light. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

In 1983,I would watch the "Beat It" and "Billie Jean" video and try to do the dance steps when nobody was watching I'd be in the mirror,lip-syncing the words and trying desperately to dance just like him.All I needed was the white glove, lol.Michael Jackson was AMAZING back then.In 1983,Michaelmania was unlike anything I had ever seen before.I eventually got a red leather "Beat It" jacket.

It makes me laugh how newer fans believe that Michaelmania was worldwide during the Bad and Dangerous eras, when the real Michaelmania was during the Thriller era. Having lived in 3 different continents during that era I would say I it was around this time when every other person wanted to be like Michael the most. I mean I never saw that many people donning the Bad outfit, even for 1987 it looked tacky, but every other person was into the "Thriller" or "Beat it "Jackets, it was during this era that he truely became an icon. Indeed. It was astonishing how popular MJ was in 1983/84.I had never seen anything like it!! It was surreal.Everywhere I went,I saw people with MJ buttons all over their jackets...I saw kids of every race wearing an MJ T-Shirt....I saw classmates wearing the 'Beat It' and 'Thriller' jackets.Very expensive too.I remember those jackets cost around $300.That was such a fun time. These days, there are no "superstars" anymore.Today's artists don't generate that same kind of excitement.

I helped on a book about MJ a couple of months and I've always been really impressed how well the album by itself. Compared to albums today, the album didn't have alot of promotion. 7 singles, 3 videos, 1 performance made this album the best selling album of all times. 104 million.....dayum "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."
