Triumph vs Destiny

The two best Jacksons albums, what's your favorite ?

What's your favorite album

1. Can You Feel It *****
2. Lovely One *****
3. Your Ways ****
4. Everybody *****
5. Heartbreak Hotel *****
6. Time Waits For No One *****
7. Walk Right Now ***
8. Give It Up ****
9. Wondering Who **

1. Blame It On The Boogie *****
2. Push Me Away ****
3. Things I Do For You **
4. Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground) *****
5. Destiny ****
6. Bless His Soul ***
7. All Night Dancin' **
8. That's What You Get (For Being Polite) ****

Don't take it bad but, Triumph shits on Destiny. I just can't believe how good Triumph is.
Destiny has sold better thanks to the massive hits Blame It On The Boogie and Shake your body down. Destiny is a great album, but to me Triumph is a true masterpiece. Too many good songs.

Triumph. Every song except Give it Up is top notch. Destiny is great too. Blame It On The Boogie and Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground) are some of the best songs The Jacksons ever did, but as a whole, Triumph is my favorite.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

The Ultimate Collection Tracks, were they remastered? I dunno, they still sound great, especially Destiny which has a more organic feel. Triumph might need some remastering, it's really not worth talking about though when you compare it to some other albums, namely the enitre Prince catalog.

IMO, they are the ONLY albums in the Jackson 5/Jacksons/MJ catalog that haven't been remastered. The "Essential" compilation did well as did the "The Very Best of The Jacksons and Jackson 5" set, so the interest is there

I love 'em both equally; in fact, I think of them as one long album.

All Night Dancin' 2 stars, thats a jam. Also, I would pick Triumph, better overall.

The Jacksons must be pretty tough, taking a picture for their album in the middle of a tornado.

Destiny.

I used to love Triumph more, but it has the rather lame 'Wondering Who', and I like 'Give It Up' and 'Your Ways', but they're lacking in a little something that could have made them better.

Plkus, the production is far better on Destiny.

"That's what you get for being polite" was a very popular rare grove track back in the late 80s to early 90s in the clubs. Since I don't do clubbing anymore I wonder whether it still is played in clubs.

I love both but "Triumph" has This Place Hotel, Time Waits For No One, Walk Right Now & Show You The Way To Go which are some of my fave songs ever so I have to go with Triumph.

Triumph seems to be winning, but after looking at the track list, I have to go with Destiny. I agree with whomever said that they both need to be remastered.

Are you sure you have this album because "Show You The Way To Go" was on their Jacksons album from 76.

But in general Michael older stuff, especially the stuff he did with his brothers and the stuff from Off The Wall have always been quite popular at clubs. It's his stuff from the Thriller era that doesn't quite have that same kind of funky sound.

...and Bad isn't funky at all.

Out of Triumph and Destiny, I think i'd go for Destiny...just. I love That's What You Get for Being Polite and the jam at the end of Destiny.

I've heard billie jean, wanna be startin something, thriller, beat it and even a dance remix of baby be mine played at clubs. Maybe it's not funky but that stuff still gets played in clubs like off the wall material

SoulAlive

'Destiny'

It contains the Jackson's funkiest jam ever "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)".That's the song that got them back on track after the disappointing 'Goin Places' album. In the disco era, that song was ON FIRE!! You heard it everytime you turned on the radio. The long, extended 12" version puts the single version to shame.
