Dust Gathering/Surprising Albums This thread isn't simply about albums you bought and don't like...
Name an artist that you were influenced into buying an album by but had no previous interest in. Or were swept up by the reviews, went to see them/bought the album then thought "I knew I shouldn't have done this!!". And while we're at it, name one that you did buy on reviews/word-of-mouth alone and were pleasantly surprised by. My choices: 1. Nelly Furtado 'Whoa, Nelly!'. I didn't even like "'I'm Like A Bird' but the reviews were so good, I picked it up. Horrid. 2. kd lang 'Ingenue'. One of the most beautiful, heartrending albums I have ever heard. It just touches you >there<. This reviewer on Teletext kept name-checking it so I plunged in, habing heard none of her stuff. It took me about ten listens to get 'into' it but once it weaves its' spell... beautiful. . [Edited 5/5/07 8:14am] | |
