listening to some late-70s Eurodisco...anybody remember Cerrone? Sometimes,I get tired of listening to the well-known disco hits.I want to hear the more experimental stuff...the weird, hypnotic Eurodisco.I just picked up two Cerrone CDs: 'Love In C Minor' (1976) and 'Supernature' (1977):

Yeah, his album covers are silly When I buy 70's albums I always pick other CDs to put them in between. I'm also ready to say at the cashier in case she gives me one of those looks:"It's not for me. My father was a fan"

I don't know. I just found this LP among other treasures ages ago and when I saw your post it made me crack up because you also mentioned your father...

It's the opening theme for every Goldfrapp concert. You are a real Cerrone fan if you know this one--my favorite Cerrone song: Club Underworld

Me? I honestly don't have any Cerrone albums, just that one 12". It got played on the NYC R&B stations at the time. It sorta sounds like a Malcolm McLaren "Buffalo Gals" thing--totally un-Cerrone-like.

This is the one I remember...
...Cerrone's Paradise The title cut from that album got seared into my brain. My girlfriend at the time was taking a Modern Dance class and choreographed a dance to that tune. The "conversations" during the intro to some of his tunes are a crackup. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Cerrone! The absolute shizzle. I started every radio show I ever played with Sweet Drums. He was pretty damn popular here in NY as we transitioned from Disco to Hip Hop. since Run & Them were saying "Here we go"

Too much Cerronedipity happening today.
One of my co-workers (a Disco fanatic, specifically Euro-Disco), with no prompting, just handed me a CD consisting of... ...Cerrone 3: Supernature & Cerrone IV: The Golden Touch. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
