i'm sure it's wonderfully transgressive and whatnot, and i'm looking forward to watching him make out with his 11 year old girlfriend in all the new videos.

So I take it you've already seen the preview of the "Heart Shaped Glasses" video. Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood making out while drenched in blood. Oh, and she's 19. Don't hate just because you can't get young hot (legal) ass like that. [Edited 5/2/07 5:49am]

I like this album a lot!
But Windows media player doesn't play track 3 (The Red Carpet Grave). I had to download Winamp just to play that song!

It reminded me slightly of "Kids". |

"Heart Shaped Glasses" has the same chord progression as "Under the Milky Way". Not a bad song, but it wears thin after a while. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

I'm fighting with myself not to download this! For me, each Manson album is an event from going to the record store to pick it up, bringing it home, unwrapping it, checking out the artwork, and then finally listening to it while reading the words....

dancerella said: weepingwall said: no..i dont know..especially for the rozz williams thing. who is rozz williams? the lead singer from a 80's band called Christian Death. who if you see pictures of him, you can totally tell manson rip off his image. and the whole band's gimmick. besides marilyn manson ripping off rozz williams. there is also this austrialian ass hole named "valor" who ripp off the name christian death and his version of christian death is well trite. poor rozz, commited suicide in april 1,1998.

My track-by-track review...
If I Was Your Vampire The opening track is a very dark song. In ways it's very heart-breaking and obviously about his divorce with Dita. It's one of those songs that you don't notice how long it goes for because it's so well put together. It's actually a 6 minute song but it feels more like 3-4 minutes. The music is very well contructed. My only critism is that it shouldn't be the opening track. Marilyn Manson has explained in interview and press conferences that it's the first track on the album (and will be the first song performed in concerts) because it was the first song he wrote for the album. The second track, which I will get to soon, would have been a much better album opener. Putting Holes in Happiness When the song first started playing, I got worried. I heard these industrial noises and I was justing think, "oh shit, here we go again". But then the drums and guitars kick in and I'm immediately in love. It sounds like a classic rock song that been raped in the arse by Manson. So awesome. This is the best song on the album. It should've been the album opener because of how it starts (tricks you into thinking it's more Golden Age of Grotesque shit, but it turns out the be one of the most awesome MM songs ever). It would've have made a much better debut single than Heart Shaped Glasses. Also, the guitar solo fucking rocks! Tim Skold is a guitar god. Who would've thunk it. The Red Carpet Grave The guitar's sound so classic brit-rock in this song.. But then some awesome synths kick in and it brings in out of classic rock world into bizarro Manson world. The guitar solo in this one sucks a bit. Skold did a way better job on the previous track. The Said That Hell's Not Hot I am in love with this song. The lyrics are so obviously about his divorce. This song better be a single. I can really see it being a huge hit. Skold's solo in this one is pretty damn good. I never expected the album to be so guitar orientated. It's such a good change from the synth-heavy stuff on Golden Age of Grotesque. It's also nice that this album is very personal. For the first time Marilyn Manson humanises himself, which I find quite refreshing. Just a Car Crash Away This song is unbelievable. If you liked Fundamentally Loathsome, you'll like this. It's like a heavy, emotional sequel to it. I have to give it up for Manson's vocals on this one. He brings out so much emotion. Towards the end it sounds like he may have even been crying when recording the vocals. I got emotional when listening to this song for the first time. I actually cried. It "moved" me, despite how corny that sounds. Heart Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand) This is the debut single. It's quite good. Not as strong as some of the other songs. In fact, it's probably the weakest song, which says a lot for the album because this song is still quite good. It's probably the most radio-friendly song on the album. I don't know if it'll be a big hit or anything. I just hope it's not the only single. Half of the songs on the album could easily be singles. Vampire, Holes and Hell would all make good singles. Evidence This song is wonderful. It’s one of my favourites. It's start off with an opening that is similar to the funeral march. It gradually builds up to explosive Skold solos. The guitar work is brilliant in this one. This could be a single if it wasn't for the lyrics. I suppose a little blanking/beeping could do the trick. Cool song. Are You The Rabbit? If you loved Antichrist Superstar, you'll love this. It's so ACSS. This would be a great live song. There are a few Alice's Adventures in Wonderland references in this song. "Faster, faster, faster-faster-faster-faster, I'm late, I'm late!" Mutilation is the Most Sincere Form of Flattery To me, this song is addressed to all the Chemical Romance and AFI's out there. He calls all the so-called "emo" bands of today "rebels without applause". And he's got a very clear message for all of them, "fuck you, fuck you, fuck you and fuck you too". You, Me and the Devil Makes 3 Another song that could easily be a ACSS track. It's pretty dark. As of yet, I'm not so sure what the lyrics are about. Some kinky threesome with the devil or something. But what are you supposed to make of lyrics like "mudercute happyrape"? Eat Me, Drink Me The album closer probably has more Alice's Adventures in Wonderland references than any other song on the album. I really like this song and it's on of the best album closers for a MM album. Second only to the ever-classic Coma White. So there you have it. If I was a Rolling Stone reviewer, I'd probably give this the all-mighty 5 star rating. Or maybe a 4.5. It's definitely worthy of a high rating. However, RS haven't given MM albums good reviews in the past as they sort of see him as some gimmick that they wish would just go away. They'll give this a 3.5 out of 5. IMHO, this album is Marilyn Manson's best. It combines the heavy drums and guitars of ACSS, the great melodies and synth/glam-rock of Mechanical Animals and the lyrical brilliance of Holy Wood. IMO, it's the best MM album without a doubt. I really hope it's a huge success.

No, if you were a Rolling Stone reviewer, you'd have given it one star, because Manson hasn't done anything relevant in YEARS.
I don't see what the fuss is about regarding this album. He still, to me, peaked with "Mechanical Animals". This seems like he's trying to go back to that sound, and isn't succeeding. Give me the new NIN anyday over this. now i know what this is all about. now i know exactly what i am.

Give me the new NIN anyday over this. This album shits all over Mechanical Animals. Even Holy Wood beats Mechanical Animals. Holy Wood was Manson's best album, that was until now. Eat Me Drink Me is the new best MM album.

thought i'd give the couple tracks that are on his myspace a listen, just to be fair.
