Blondie to release greatest hits album October 1 Coming October 1st! Blondie will release a new "greatest hits" album compiling the bands hits spanning 3 decades. Here is the tracklist:
1. Dreaming 2. Call Me 3. One Way or Another 4. Heart of Glass 5. The Tide Is High 6. X Offender 7. Hanging on the Telephone 8. Rip Her to Shreds 9. Rapture 10. Atomic 11. Picture This 12. In the Flesh 13. Denis 14. (I'm Always Touched by Your) Prescence, Dear 15. Union City Blue 16. The Hardest Part 17. Island of Lost Souls 18. Sunday Girl 19. Maria My thoughts: I love the inclusion of lesser known singles like "Picture This" and "The Hardest Part." This is much more comprehensive than 1981's "Best of Blondie." However, it is missing a few things. "War Child" is one of their best songs, and although the single didn't fare well, it is a fan favorite. I also think that "Screaming Skin" is an outstanding track from "No Exit" and merits inclusion. I still feel that 1994's "The Platinum Collection" offers a better glimpse into Blondie's catalogue, but this is not bad for a single disc release.

In other news, the band's follow-up album to "No Exit" is due out in the first part of 2003. I can't wait!

Cool news. This will be a much better 1 disc set than Best of Blondie.
It seems like everyone cool is having a release this year. I wish that their new studio album was coming out first though. Their tour in '99 was way cool. 2nd row baby!

I take it u r employing a wee touch of sarcasm there, matey! Barring the exquisite "Rapture", the term classic is not 1 i would readily apply 2 that motley crew of soulless dirges. "White flannel" (as in the 70s suits) does spring readily 2 mind, however ! Blondie ?

There already is a double disc blondie greatest hits collection. Its called The Platinum Collection. It came out in 1995 and also includes a few Remixes towards the end. Its a very very good collection, including some rarities.
Also, if you ever happen to come across "Blondie: Remixed, Remade, Remodedled" by all means pick it up, EXCELLENT remix CD. There are also several Maxi singles from this disc that include even more remixes and some live stuff.
