Musiq: Luvanmusiq I recently brought his new album and surprisingly, it's one of the better ones he's done. I wasn't really feeling his last one, Soulstar because it seemed like a retread of something he already did in the past. To be honest, this is only the second album from Musiq that I even like (Juslissen was his best one). I thought Aijuswanaseing was overrated and alright, and I REALLY didn't like Soulstar. With this new album, he is doing more retro stuff and the ballads are killer. Teachme and Thequestions are my faves on this record. Has anyone picked up his new joint yet? It sounds pretty good Check me out and add me on:

i agree that Soulstar has been the worst so far. don't have the latest one, but i just copped the first one used although i'd heard most of it. it's good, i usually put it on for Mary Go Round, the duet at the end, girl next door, and 143. the 2nd album IS the best. i'll probably wait and cop the latest one used too. i hear he doesn't deliver the goods in his live shows.

I love Juslissen, great album.I guess many were dissapointed when Soulstar came out,I had a copy and I didn't bother buying the real stuff...
A lot of people here said his new also wasn't that good so I still don't know if I should spend my money on his latest. Maybe when it's in the nice price-section Love4oneanother

Maybe when it's in the nice price-section I enjoyed it alot, but it might be too modern for some neo-soul folks. The ballads are killer though, especially that Teachme joint. this album was a bit underwhelming for me
but i enjoyed Betterman (Raphael Saadiq can do no wrong as far as producing goes) Takeyouthere, and Today. Ms. Philadelphia has a nice around the block vibe about it but it get's repetative around the 1:30 mark . The rest is pretty forgettable Juslisen is still my favorite from him

I haven't checked this one out yet. Aijuswanasing (or however you spell it) was an incredible album to me and I brought the next 2 just off on GP hoping that I'd hear more of that 1st album sound. Wasn't the case- his next 2 albums had too many typical neo-soul mid-tempo/ballads for my taste and both albums only had 1 or 2 decent songs. I'd written Musiq off as a 1-album wonder.
I bought the new disc for my wife since she liked "Buddy" alot and liked his ballad-heavy albums more than me and she said that this new one bored her and that I wouldn't like it because it was really ballad-heavy. That said, I stil haven't taken the time to check out his new one yet. "Girl Next Door", "17", "When the L's Gone"- I'm waiting for Musiq to make more tunes like that. But I do recommend seeing him live. He can hit some great falsetto notes and a lot of those tunes that I just dissed sound pretty good live.

Next to "Dontchange" I haven't found any other songs that can compare to "143"...

I find the new album to be lame. Buddy is just alright but after awhile you
get tired of musiq recycling easily recognizable old school songs for his uptempo tracks. Teach Me is cool but i found only one other cut on the album that just grabs me. Luvinmusiq is a disappointment to me. I am surprised by the lack of love for soulstar. It is my favorite by him. Like juslisen too. I passed on his debut cd. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint
