Man of the moment, Ne-Yo, has long been a favorite of the press. We love this dude because he speaks his mind. He recently put Trey Songz in check for charging fans for taking a photo with him and now he is getting at Whitney Houston by saying the songs he's heard from her highly anticipated 'comeback' CD are boring.

Ne-Yo was asked to rank the songs by Clive Davis himself. "They all had the one same theme, which was 'My name is Whitney Houston and this is my triumphant comeback.' We all understand she has gone through a lot. I'm sure we all get that but I think she needs songs about regular everyday life. So that's what I'm planning to add to the album - songs about everyday emotions," Ne-Yo told The Sun. [Ne-Yo's own album Because Of You is out on May 1.]

If you checked Mariah Carey's 'comeback' cheat sheet, she at least co-wrote her own stuff. what's weird (if he really said that) is that he's saying it while working on the album.

ne yo has a knack for good songwriting and strong melodies and I think he knows what he's talking about.

to be honest, i didn't really check the guy out except for a number of songs out which i liked two,, So Sick & Because of You.

he seems to have a nice way with words but it nothing amazing really, at least he's definitely no George Michael or Alanis in terms of lyrics but i'll wait and see..

Its just really boring lyrics, its nothing special, and the music, its the same stuff im hearing from every other RB cat from Lloyd to Marques Houston. RB is going further in the hole day by day.

see you guys barely know his material and are writing him off right away. You should check out the songs Time and Mirror from his first album, and of course I'm sure you already know So Sick and Sexy Love

i'm actually listening to his debut at the moment and it's boring me to sleep that i keep repeating So Sick every now and again

though he's DEF got a nice voice.

You know, after I illegally downloaded his album, I was kind of impressed with his songwriting. I'm not sure if he's got a team centered around him or not but the tunes are solid.


He ain't no Urr-sher or Timberlake, 'though. He doesn't have that je ne sais quo.

i recently listened to whitney's greatest hits. when played back to back all of her early songs sound a like. i believe neyo on this one. i'm sure clive is longing for the days of old.
