I've tried both efforts. Both take alot of skill

How about singing, dancing, and playing instruments nod

I don't think one's better than the other or takes more skill, but I prefer singing & playing an instrument from my musicians.

But they're all talents and take skill. To me, sometimes the dancing takes away from the singing, and takesm the focus away from the music and onto the visual aspect.

Actually, too me singing and playing drums is a peace of cake. Its the guitar/piano and singing that gives me trouble.

I might be singing/playing along and forget where the note is look down, and the I'm screwed, because I will probally forget to sing.

i have a hard time singing one rhythm and playing another because my mind wants to commit to one or the other and i can't make it all come together. it's easy if i'm just doing a little tappy tappy drum beat thingie, but anything involved at all...no way. :dummy:

Singing/Dancing is much more about natural talent. Not skill.

While playing instruments is much more about skill.

But it's harder to be a great singer and dancer, How many great dancer/singers have existed ?

But there are plenty of singer/musicans artist

Yeah, it's all about how complicated the part is, and how different it is to what you're singing.

I find it hard to play bass while singing or to play melodic guitar lines while singing, but not playing chords. Playing melodies on bass or guitar while singing reminds me of playing the piano, which involves doing two fairly separate things.

And for the record, no disrespect to Phil Don & Ringo but they're not my favorites.

Good answer! I like to dance and sing! I'm learning how to play guitar/keyboards, etc.

They all take skill.

Many dancers are singers, too, particularly if they aspire to go into musical theatre. They have to be exceptional singers/dancers/actresses to even compete for the most part.

Also, a lot of dancers are musicians as well. Baryshnikov is a great pianist, for example.

I don't think one is more difficult than the other. They are all equally difficult.

Definately singing and playing instruments. I could care less about singing and dancing because I want to see a concert, not a damn Broadway musical.

I beg to differ...I think it can get boring sometimes, just listening to someone standing in place looking all sniff playing an instrument...to keep it real with you, I'd rather see both dancing and singing, along with instrument playing smile

No, I don't want to see someone just standing on a stage playing an instrument looking like Lawrence Welk and his accordian. Hell, dancing is fine as long as it is done by the artist and band themselves and it is what comes natural to them.....NOT a stage full of choreographed dancers looking like either an episode of "Fame" or a Broadway musical.

I agree. But did you really have to diss "Fame" at the same time?!? Debbie Allen & the late Gene Anthony Ray were freaking awesome duo! cool

In fact, if Gene was alive today, he would've taken Usher, Chris Brown, & Omarion back to the old-school with some serious dance moves. My opinion of course.
