Eminem + Slim Shady=DEAD! I know a lot of you are going to shoot me down for saying this (Hell, the majority probably don't give one ounce of monkey piss about the guy), but I used to love this guy's work, but now he is unruly and fucking up his career and his former craft (In My View). What do you guys think?

Well, he was when he made "Encore" and in fact, still is on cuts of other people's albums as a producer and as a featuring rapper. Has anyone in here heard "Loyal 2 The Game"? That was only filled with nonsensical "Eminem/Marshall Mathers" indulgence.

[Edited 6/21/07 4:56am] Yeah, I gotta agree with you on that. That was when he started to act "GANGSTA"! I mean, that's alright if that's your thing, but it wasn't always like that with this kid. Come on, you mean the same guy who has a photo of him wearing a "Tye-Dyed Alf T-Shirt" at seventeen or eighteen years old can pull of changing his image and get away with it and be convincing? He also fucking sounds sophomoric and elementaric releasing shit like "Big Weenie", "Ass Like That", "FACK", "Just Lose It" and "My Dad's Gone Crazy". I am sorry, but I can be passionate about my hate and love for this guy's work. He was great when "The Slim Shady LP" and "The Marshall Mathers LP" albums were released, but now he is shit that hasn't been flushed down the toilet quite yet!

I like his stuff. I have his first 3 albums. Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, and The Eminem Show. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

the eminem show was aiighhtt.he really coulda done some great thingd.but i guess he felt it was safer to stick with the marshall mathers lp formula. and encore i didnt even buy. lol Wait a minute, "The Marshall Mathers LP" is "WAY" better than "The Eminem Show". On the last track of the latter, he was trying too much to keep up with the "Slim Shady Persona" standards of humor and some sort of shock value that once had been his actual personality at one time (Call me crazy, but I think it was kind of thing that the guy who played in those "Ernest....{Insert Action Here}" films had. He often had gotten sucked up into his character. I even think that "Robbin Williams" had this problem.). Yeah, I might sound crazy but I don't think "HE" would ever deny such if the question had imposed upon the guy. But, oh "GOD" how the "Encore" stunk to high heaven. I don't think that guy from the "WWFuck-Ups" (Or whatever you call that wrestling organization that has been down in the dumps since I can rememeber for these past six years) could have anyone rap wacker. I felt sorry for "Em'" because, even the songs where/when he had gotten serious (Which was rare on that album) were just so below mediocre. "The Eminem Show" had kind of started off this thing and I have a pretty good theory on that. [Edited 6/22/07 7:26am]

Eminem is obviously hugely talented, but his formula just wore thin. He's spitting out words an in artful & intelligent way, but he's basically only saying three things "_____ is a bitch" "I'm so crazy/America can't handle me" and "I am just trying to raise my daughter."
If he could find something new to say and not hide behind those few ideas that he feels makes him "real" he might be able to revitalize himself. My Legacy

[Edited 6/22/07 0:35am] ENCORE was a good album - it was just the weakest album in his discography (kinda like what "Nastradamus" is to Nas's discography). In terms of lyricism and wordplay, it still shits on most rap album nowadays.

[Edited 6/21/07 4:56am] I agree completely, I used to love him, too, but almost everything after The Marshall Mathers LP is shit. The Eminem Show was just mediocre, and now I find him almost unlistenable.

The Eminem Show was just mediocre, and now I find him almost unlistenable. My thoughts exactly. I don't even like "Like Toy Soldiers" for anything else except for the fact that he was the more mature person in the "Benzino/The SAUCE/Ja Rule/Murder Inc. Beef". That and "Yellow Brick Road" were mediocre at best. Sorry, no wait, no I'm not. Because.....IT'S TRUE....IT'S DAMN TRUE!!!!

He's had his run...looks to me that he's got nothing else to say, so he's calling it a career. You can't deny that he brought the goods when he was on point. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Hmmmmm, MEH!!! The guys beats' were especially on the "Alternative/New wave" side during his first commercially released album, "The Slim Shady LP"!!! What you might be thinking about that could have the more evident stripped-down, smooth yet hardcore "West-Coast" sound would probably be "The Marshall Mathers LP" (Although, I think that is actually his best album, as would most who actually "LISTEN" to the lyrics). Just listen to it ("The Slim Shady LP"), though. If anything, to most people who listen to "Regular Hip-Hop" (Or the status quo of "Shit-Hop" as you'd like to call it.), wouldn't even take a second listen to these "BEATS". They're (The "BEATS", that is) considered mediocre on "The Slim Shady LP" album, at best by most avid listeners to this genre of music in it's present state where/when "The Dirty-South" rules in beats, while I like them. So, take a second listen at "THAT" album ("The Slim Shady LP"), at least! Sorry for the structure and length of the post. I guess that's just how I role.
