Why has the media almost completely IGNORED the Phil Spector trial?

i was just watching some of the prosecutor's opening statements live on court tv. Phil is definitely going to jail. nod

as for why it's being ignored.... well, he's not exactly a household name these days and hasn't been for about 40 years. as far as celebrity murder trials go, he barely even qualifies as a celebrity anymore.

And yet, aside from his recent alleged misdeeds, he should be viewed (and probably is really) as one of the top 5 legends in '60s pop music, with an influence approaching that of the Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys etc. He made two or three of the best singles ever made.

When you look into Spector's history, it's quite sad all round.

Phil Spector is as guilty as Robert Blake. Some things just take common sense. A dead woman is in Phil Spector's house. He claimed that she accidentally shot herself IN THE HEAD. That story changed to she committed suicide. Robert Blake claims that his wife was alive when he left her in a DARK ALLEY to go inside of a resturant to retrieve a GUN that he left behind. When he comes back, she just happens to be SHOT. These two cases were so obvious that even a blind man could have figured them out. Robert Blake was guilty and got away with murder. There is no way that the scenario happened the way that he claimed.Either he shot his wife or paid someone to do it when he left her in the car alone in a dark alley.

Second degree murder on a theory of implied malice. I haven't heard anything about a confession. The defense claims the victim shot herself.

But according to the prosecution case, when the police came onto the crime scene
Phil confess to killing the woman.

Your right, the prosecution has a witness (phil's driver) claiming that Phil said that he thought he shot her, but that is not what the defense is claiming and Phil hasn't confessed on the record.

Is there anything physical evidence linking him to her killing, i.e blood on his clothes, gun residue on his hands. The reason why many of these famous celebs get off is because most of the time the physical evidence is flawed, In the case of O.J the glove didn't fit. In the case of Robert Blake there was no real evidence that he pulled the trigger. In the case of Michael Jackson there was no real physical evidence because of the nature of the accusations, so they had to rely heavily on circumstantial evidence.

From what I can tell from the media (I haven't been watching the trial), the defense is based entirely on forensics, but i don't what kind of evidence they have.
