I love Mya

I think they could have done a better job with that video. It was boring.

Too bad the song is not better. Does she really need Lil Wayne to contribute?

Hello No!! but apparently her label thinks so

i honestly think the song is a bit dull, but im hoping the rest of the album will be better

Moodring was my guilty pleasure of '03

People swear by Mood Ring. I might have to check it out. I know My Love Is Like...Wo was serious and Fallen was my song of the summer.

Video isn't bad but it looks like it was cut to a different mix of the song. Probably a better one.

Yeah im not crazy about the song, but i would like it better with no LIL WAYNE, its not just him, i just hate guest rappers on RB tracks, can we end this shit already. But as for MYA, she has had some personal issues but the thing i always like about her is the fact that she tells you straight what she thinks, which is why some dont like her, they rather artists be puppets. Another complaint i hear when i talk of Amerie and Mya, is the complaint that they arent "successful", really? what are we basing success on, sure they arent Beyonce status, but who the hell is, and honestly i would hate it if Amerie and MYA were everywhere 24/7, i like it this way, small loyal followings, they do their thing and thats it. Lets not forget that MYA has been around longer than Beyonce has also, so to still have a following 10 years after her debut in this day and age is a fucking acheivement in its own.

As for MOODRING, the best way to describe it, is that it was the Best RB female "mainstream" album in the last decade, next to Aaliyahs final album. Diversity, a mixture of sounds, just what RB used to be. Expect the same feel on Liberation. LOCK U DOWN is just a taste, theres already a second single lined up by the time the cd hits the stores which is not until June 26,2007.

Some MYA for the eyes also

The first pic is from yesterday in NYC at a show with Patti Labelle, trust me MYA has got respect from alot of the older ladies of RB. And last but not least, that top25 BET poll of dancers, HOW THE HELL was Mya not listed and Beyonce and CHris Brown in the top 10, MYA easily could dance those 2 of any stage, to me shes top 10 or even 5 in dance.

Right. The song is the weak link. A better song would make the video look better.

Mya has a lot of talent but she made some irreparable mistakes along the way. There is a glass ceiling for her. She will never be allowed to be all she can be as an artist via the general media. Its a shame, too. Moodring was a good CD that got underexposed.

Yeah but the mistakes she made are very common among a young artist as she was back then who got a little ahead of herself and really just pissed alot of people off for speaking her mind. But this can be said of many artists from Kanye West to Terence Trent D'arby, the key i think is not alienating your base and Mya hasnt done that. And she has alot of respect from older RB artists, which amazed me, but seeing people like Dionne,Diana,Patti and others speaking of MYA really impressed me. MYA will never be "Beyonce" but i think she is finally comfortable just being MYA and finally the people around her are on her side, and believe it or not she does have quite a bit of control now that many dont have. MOODRING was underexposed for 2 reasons, MYA had some serious family issues, one being her mothers cancer, the second issue would be those on her team ripping her off, which is my the team is gone, and MYA has moved to a small part of Motown, and she moved out of LA and back to her home in DC, and opened a dance studio.

I kinda feel bad for Mya. She can dance her butt off and she's an ok singer as far as what's out there today, and she has charisma and knows how to play to the camera. But most of her material is crap, crap, crap.

That is what confuses me. This is the 1st song on a new cd? Why? Why? Why?

My guess..somebody thought this would get airplay because that rasta-troll Lil' Wayne was on the track.
