No, shelf space in my apartment is a hot commodity. Only the truly worthy can get it. Plus I don't like false representation in my collection.

I love that purist in you. biggrin False representation, huh hmmm

I think music and movie collections are good representations of a person. If I'm dating someone and I go back to her place and see a bunch of romantic comedies and Matchbox 20 CDs, she's getting dumped.

Tori has extended an invitation to the Pope to attend the first American Doll Posse show in Rome:

A MESSAGE FOR HIS HOLINESS POPE BENIDICT XVI

As a Daughter of the Christian Church I invite you, The Father of The Vatican to partake in Musical Communion as we commence The American Doll Posse World Tour in Rome.

Because it’s you, a small entourage would be welcome.

As Always,

I am
Tori Amos

eek

Does the Pope attend any rock concerts? hmmm

hmmm While I have strong opinions about movies and music, I'm not sure I need my mate to share the same tastes. That would be on my b-list. There are many more important factors they must fulfill on the A-list first. Besides, if they're, say, all new-agey and stuff or into romantic comedies, it's fun to slip a little punk or david lynch into their collection. cool

ok, i will admit it is incredibly fun to convert those you are dating to new music. I did that with my last boyfriend. He reacted and responded so wonderfully to so much of my music collection. But something tells me matchbox 20 fans are probably hard nuts to crack wink

Ha, I think I chose the most extreme examples in my post. I'm not saying the person has to be a perfect match. If say, this fictional woman was really into WWII films and rockabilly music (two areas I know very little about), then I wouldn't see that as a deal breaker at all if she was really nice in every other aspect. But romantic comedies and bland rock bands like Matchbox 20 I detest. Christian rock is another one. And all those feel-good Tyler Perry films. barf

Stay away from those things and you have a chance with me. smile
