i've been stuck on a "Who Is It?" loop all week. alternating between the
album version and the bells version video on youtube.

i think my neighbours are about ready to crucify me in the backyard now.

music

Innocence

I can't qualify this track or compare it with some of Björk's previous work.

It's reminds me of a distorted vintage arcade machine with some other synth bable.

It reminds me of Human League's Being Boiled but with a Timbaland subverted input!

If I didn't knew that good ol' Timbaland produced it, I would have never imagined he had his paws on it.

The song ends with a segue with the Pipa and the sound of waves...maybe it segues with another song.

I give the song 8/10.

One of them sounds like "Cover Me".

I think Mike mentioned that. Is it "I See Who You Are"? I knew I was right about the Post vibe!

Previously on MikeMatronik review extravaganza:

Imagine that "Cover Me" from Debut had been recorded in a Vespertine way...Now sprinkle it with some zest of this instrument:

The song is 4:07 and it will please the wankers who don't like angry beats Björk

I just finished watching the show. I haven't watched SNL in years either. Keenan was the only one that was kinda decent, imo. I skipped over most of the show though, and just fast forwarded to Bjork. I felt like I was on another planet listening to her performance.....very old school spacey Bjork. The background singers looked like they were audition for a Dr. Seuss musical. lol You know Scarlet's voice is pretty good too.....kinda deep and raspy. I remember reading in a magazine that she was releasing an album, and I thought "Oh, boy.....another actress trying to sing". After hearing, I think I'll be checking her album out. redface

I think she's doing a Tom Waits covers album.

fred armisen and maya rudolph are criminally under/mis-used on that show these days. i hope their days are numbered on SNL and they go on to bigger and better soon.

Not sure. I'm always surprised when I see his name in the opening though. He's kinda the new Phil Hartman.

I completely respect Bjork’s intelligence and immense talent as a musical artist.

However, I can’t help but want to pick her up and put her on my shelf. And when the spirit moves I want to be able to pinch her cheeks, wind her up and watch her sing and dance barefoot about my porcelain piggies.

Then I’ll give her some yarn and she can play with kitty.

Later, possibly maybe, will suck some milk out of a box of cookies and discuss Friedrich Nietzsche’s influence on modern existentialist thought.
