vainandy said: I have basically no static in my albums that I bought in the 1980s when they were brand new. I kept good care of my albums and kept them all in, not only the album covers, but the inside sleeves as well. A lot of people didn't keep those inside covers and would put the pictures on their walls as posters.I kept all mine inside the covers.I don't have any of the covers to my 45s and they have static though. It doesn't bother me though. It just reminds me that they are "authentic" and not copies from a later era.
Yeah,I managed to keep most of my albums in good condition. Most of the albums I find on my vinyl digs are usually in mint condition.A few years ago I bought a copy of the Saturday Night Fever album and it's like brand new,as if it was never ever played.I love it when I find a mint condition classic album.

I have 4 or her albums, and sometimes i try to listen to them, but i only stick to a few songs and skip the rest You don't like her amazing voice?! Her voice is brilliant, but it`s more the material that doesn`t appeal to me. "Don`t let anyone bring you down" is one of the songs i do like

I think that was released before the planned re-issues, but i`m not sure... The expanded version of "It must be magic" contains two live tracks, right? I allready have the original album, but i`m thinking of getting the expanded edition if the two bonus tracks are worth it. I have all of Teena's Motown albums on vinyl. Yeah, the CD of "It Must Be Magic" has two live tracks and the 12 Inch version and instrumental of "Square Biz". The "Wild and Peaceful" CD I was looking for has bonus tracks also. Shock "Shock Waves"(1982) - "The Crack Is Back" Electrophonic Phfunk" are tight jams but "That's A Lady" is the highlight on this album IMO Oh HELL yeah! We don't like country, we don't like rock, and we certainly don't like punk We just wanna get on down with that electrophonic phunk. I haven't heard that jam since the summer of 1982 and have been looking for it ever since. Hell, I couldn't even find it in the record stores in my area back in 1982 when it was released. You got a rare jam there! Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde "The Challenge"(1982) - The rap answer to Vanity 6's "Nasty Girl", classic ealry 80's Hip Hop
We're so nasty, we love to turn it out On the down stroke, we never choke We'll make you scream and shout I said, we're so nasty, we both are rated X And when it comes to gettin' freaky girl Huh, we're the best Hell yeah! I bought that 12 Inch when it was first released. If you notice, "Nasty Girl" is not sampled in that song. They re-recorded the groove from scratch. Rap artists actually had musical talent back then. I did a thread on it here on the org a few years ago and I only got one response which was from Cinister Cee. I guess nobody else remembers the song. . . The only song I'm familiar with is "Eyeballin",which is GREAT! That song deserved to be a big hit like "Boogie Nights" or "The Groove Line". I'll run down every track in order to you SoulAlive: Side A 1.Razzle Dazzle - This cut is very similar to Ain't No Half Steppin, it's got the same slick groove to it 2.Eyeballin - Classic cut, it stills get alot of airplay on are two old school radio stations here in Philly 3.The Night We Fell - Quiet Storm slow jam here, not excellent but good enough to slow groove to. 4.Raise A Blaze - Rod Temperton funk at it's best, funky groove, great vocals and clever hook on this, they performed this on Soul Train right after Johnny Wilder was in that car accident. The clip was posted on youtube but it along with all the rest of the Soul Train clips have been taken down. 5.First Day Of Snow - Another Slow Jam, not as good as the first Side B 6.One Night Tan - Ok Dance cut, it's sorta similar to Groove Line but not as good. 7.Therm Warfare - Similar to Razzle Dazzle with great Horn work on it. 8.All Talked Out - Great Mid-Tempo Rod Temperton funk here, both the groove and vocals are suberb on this cut 9.That's The Way We'll Always Say Goodnight - Sorta 60's sounding Slow Jam, it has that classic soul sound to it. It sounds like a cut they would use in a movie love-making scene, LOL!! 10.Disco - This is the only cut Rod didn't write on this album, Johnny Wilder did, but you can hear Rod influence on this track. The track has that danceable Jazz feel to it, it was a good effort by Johnny All-N-All I would say this is not as good as Too Hot To Handle or Central Heating, but I'd still give it 3 outta 5 stars. It a welcome addition to my music collection. I hope you can find a copy someday, I think you'll like it as much as I do. [Edited 4/20/07 23:38pm]

[Edited 4/20/07 16:30pm] Yeah Vainandy that Shock joint is indeed rare, the only reason why I picked it up is because I also have they're first album which I think is very good. I tried to find more info on those cats and I've come up blank. I know that Marlon Mcclain produced the group but other then that not much, either way both Shock albums I own get alot of play. My Uncle was in his clubbin days back in the early 80's and even he can't remember that Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde song, I put it on a cd for him and he was like WHO'S THAT?
