Let's see how this game will go?

Guess, How many units these artists will sell in the first week, let's see who will come the closest?

Hilary Duff - Dignity
Paul Wall - Get Money--Stay True
Timbaland - Shock Value

hmmm

Timbaland - 120,000
Paul Wall - 20,000
Hilary Duff - 130,000

TIMBALAND 141,922

Hilary Duff is good for debuting at number one and selling a lot the first week, but it seems like it's been a while..She used to release an album a year for a reason! Also, will the Kids Choice Award Viewers who think Justin Timberlake is God eat up the dance pop of the now 20 year old singer with a more sophiscated dance pop soumd. I know I'm buying.

Dont forget Beyonce, she could see a return to number 1 with the re-issue. Im guessing the male artists will debut higher, but i think the two ladies will have more staying power with their records.

Also remember this week, is a big week for the labels, the malls will be packed, kids are out of school, spring break, easter and all that stuff so expect to see strong numbers and then a BIG drop once again.

Guess:

Beyonce : 215,000
Timbaland : 175,000
Hilary Duff : 150,000
Paul Wall :125,000

Though i have heard all these releases already and the Duff record is by far the strongest.

Those are way too low, even in this market, soundscan tracks what is shipped to the stores and re-orders. For a fact i know Timabaland is shipping 150,000 and Beyonce 250,000 and Duff around 150,000

incorrect. Soundscan tracks actual point of purchase retail sales. You're thinking of the RIAA tracking method, which tracks shipped copies.

True but sounscan is a compiled Record-store inventory from what was shipped to what is re-ordered, it is not 100% accurate its about 60-70% accurate, trust me i worked in it from 1988-2006, and we had to compile it all the time.

CynicKill

I used to HATE Hillary Duff. She was the worst of the putting-on-my-makeup-in-the-mirror singers I ever heard.
Then I wised up. Why get upset over a pop music act. But I'm weak for dance and since I heard her new song I have somewhat of a newfound respect for her. It sounds good. She's sexy without being trashy like her other Disney breathren(sp), and she hasn't embarrassed herself to the extent of them either, though I haven't seen her new reality show on MTV (It can't be good for her. It never is).

Her MTV show is just a couple of episodes and its a making the album type thing then its over, its not like a Hilary gets a job on a farm ttype reality thing. I agree with you though, i never disliked her, but i didnt listen to heruntil her best of CD, then i heard the new song and i knew i would like the album since it was the direction she should go, very 80's/pop/dance. And def agree about her sex appeal, its just there, this album is mature but its not "mature", shes not wearing close to nothing, shes not talking "sex" in the lyrics, its just a confidence, sexy without trying. And the title "dignity" is all about that, and that track is aimed at certain people, who show to parties and think thats "news" or important.
