At the same time, in may 2006, an interview with Underground Soul Online Magazine, Riley announced that he would be working on three key projects. A new Blackstreet album, a new Guy album and Michael Jackson for his new album scheduled for late 2007.

Riley will be also be working with Australian dance-pop singer Kylie Minogue for her comeback album in 2007.

Riley will be working with The Backstreet Boys for their comeback album in June 2007.

I don't know why he even bothers reuniting his bands Guy and Blackstreet. There's always alot of drama there. The last Guy reunion was a mess, and didn't one of the Blackstreet guys sue him? Let those groups rest in peace.

nod nod
Ironically i saw blackstreet's video for joy this morning which is my favorite
track by the group which is michael jacksonesque. I actually liked guy better.
Like you said what's the use of reuniting only to break up again and jerking the
public. I've been moved on from teddy's antics.
Also blackstreet's last cd in 2003 sucked big time.

I also prefer Guy. nod

BTW, there's a reason "Joy" sounds like Michael Jackson -- he wrote it. lol

I remember Teddy being upset that the songs he and Michael worked on for HIStory didn't make the album

well that song he produced on Mike's last album "invincible" sucked big time and SHOULD had been left off. I think it was called "2000 Watts" or something of that nature.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It was about five years ago where Teddy Riley said he owed the IRS about 1.45 million in back taxes, not to mention $243,855 in Virginia taxes for 1996-98 and 2001 and also owes Virginia Beach $35,417 in real estate taxes.

There was also drama with GUY before its first album was released -- Timmy Gatling quit the group as the album was going to press, and then later manager/godfather Gene Griffin and Riley got into a nasty dispute over Griffin apparently taking Riley's name off songwriting credits and inserting his.

I agree in that most of the drama always centers around Riley -- I've always heard he was difficult with whom to work in terms of a group or collaboration.

My "Teddy's Jams" playlist (all songs where Teddy sang, produced, arranged, and/or remixed) -- I'll try to cut it down to singles only:

I'm also surprised by our previous discussion you left off Teddy Riley's remix of Tony! Toni! Tone!'s "Baby Doll."

I also would throw in TR's work on Keith Sweat's "Your Love, Pt. II" and Redhead Kingpin's "Pump It Hottie."

2000 watts was originally written for Tyrese's cd of the same title.

Story goes, he had been hanging with Tyreese in the studio and heard the song. Michael asked of he could use it for his upcoming cd and Tyreese said yes....The rest is history. If you look at the credits, Tyrese is credited.

It all makes more sense knowing that "2000 Watts" is really for someone of the caliber of Tyrese.

It should be "Michael Jacksonesque" because Michael co-wrote it. It was a left over track from the Dangerous sessions that Michael didn't use.

To comemorate the NJS era, I just created a mini-podcast. You can hear it by either searching for "nivlekbrad" on twango.com or you can go to www.myspace.com/nivlekbrad for more info.
