Quality not quantity. I'd take one MJ album over Madonna's entire career.

I'd argue that there isn't a whole lot of "quality" in most of MJ's post-Thriller albums,but that's another thread,lol.

You seem very optimistic that MJ could make a comeback lol But it's interesting to note that Madonna never really needs to make a "comeback".Unlike MJ,she doesn't have to prove anything. To me,that's a much better position to be in.

MJ DOES NOT NEED A COMEBACK. What gives you guys the impression that he does. He is far mor epopular than Madonna. I've never seen Madonna being followed around by hundreds of fans everytime she goes out. She's nothing compared to MJ. Every album she releases is called a "comeback album". MJ is not making a comeback. He's just making another album. Get over this "comeback" shit. It's always double standards with MJ. He sold over 10 million copies of his last album, but because he made Thriller, people think that means 10 million isn't good enough for him. It's a very impressive sales figure as far as I'm concerned. No other artist has to "comeback" from a 10 million selling album, so why should MJ have to?

I concur, but I believe that after the "Dangerous" album, that's where the quality ended with MJ.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I hear ya nod but I wanted one song that he could perform with his brothers. They could be the "special guests" that arrive unannounced.Don't these Unplugged shows usually have some kind of special guest? lol

lol Janet and him can do an acoustic version of "Scream"

Though I'm not sure that song has any chords confused

Bullshit. What does she ever have to "come back" from? confuse Her career is in a healthy state. It's not as if she spent the last few years on trial for molesting a child rolleyes She releases albums consistently and tours on a regular basis.Unlike MJ,she doesn't have anything to prove.

Every Madonna album since 'Music' (2000) sold less on a global level than 'Invincible'. And Madonna made hundreds of TV performances, concerts and music videos. Michael did nothing of that and still sold more with his last studio album.

So, if you want to compare these two artists, you only can do it, when they both do all the shows, the tours etc.
When Madonna will do the MTV Awards, Wetten dass (in Germany), a tour and music videos, then she will sell probably more than Michael.
But if Michael goes on tour and does TV performances all around the world, then he will easily sell out Madonna.

But the problem is: I don't believe that Michael wants to do all that. He will just drop the album and lean back. No big shows, no videos, no tour. So you can't compare those two. Madonna does everything to get the people buy her record. Michael doesn't even do an interview.

He will be doing atleast 1 video because Raymone Bain said he is currently doing dance rehearsals for a music video.

For those who don't know, here is a list of all the names that have attached to the new Michael Jackson album. Only the first four bolded names have been confirmed...

will.i.am
Rodney Jerkins
Teddy Riley
Neffu

50 Cent
Akon
Big Chuck
Chris Brown
DJ Whoo Kid
John Legend
Ne-Yo
OneRepublic
Whitney Houston

disbelief this is exactly why I said he should do the "Unplugged" album. It looks like he is making 'Invincible Part 2'.Nothing new there.Yes,Madonna is working with mainstream R&B producers too,but it's not something she does everytime.

Who the heck is Neffu?

If there must be a Madonna and Justin duet, I hope it's better than that crap he did with Janet. Altho I guess that wasn't really a duet. confused

Notice how the guys working with Madonna are the same guys who have always wanted to work with Michael Jackson. It looks like the got rejected and went to plan B.

Yeah, they got rejected by Michael so they have to "settle" with a nobody like Madonna falloff Poor guys!

In any case,Timbaland and Pharrell are much more interesting than will.i.am

Pharrell is, but Timbaland, no fucking way. will.i.am is a damn fine producer. Stop basing your judgement of him on "My Humps". The dudes made some stinkers, but he's also made some really great songs.

As for Pharrell, he had tried over and over again to write or produce for Michael Jackson, but he always gets turned down. I don't know what it is, but Michael is just no impressed by his work.

I'll admit that Will.I.Am. has caught me by surprise a few times but his work outside of BEP and while Justin works my nerves I like what he's contributed to Macy Gray's album. So it's close there but I'm giving Madonna the slight edge because of Timbo.

MJ and Teddy might work, I don't know, haven't heard anything from Teddy in a few years. Rodney and MJ together scare me.

Sales may dictate something different but I'm most curious about Madge.

It'd be great if both albums were stellar and if Prince dropped something around that time, my God it might feel like the 80s all over again. touched

Michael was foolish to turn down Pharrell's "Rock Your Body".That's exactly the type of cool,Old School-styled jam that MJ needed!

I agree. YRMW was cute but damn it was slow and seeing MJ trying to work something out of it at MSG was sad. I would have preferred Rock Your Body. I'm kinda over MJ not working with Neptunes. I think that inspiration has passed and they've gone on to do a lot of great songs for other artists.

"Rock Your Body" is very Off The Wall-ish...woulda been perfect for MJ.I think it's better than most of the uptempo tracks on Invincible, most of which are crap.
