Can you say more about this cd? I only know a few songs by Hamilton but I've never bought a cd. Is he worth getting into? I like his voice, but is he a musician and/or writer or does he just sing?

I'm not familiar witht he live CD but as an artist that dude can blow his ass off. He's a singer and he used to be a backup vox with D'Angelo. If you can catch an old episode of the Chris Rock Show with D' on it, you will see AH blowin' behind him. A real soulful voice and duet king. He's dueted with a lof singers: Angie Stone, Lina, Macy Gray, Javier and a couple of others.

I hear him all the time on the radio, but haven't heard the Live stuff. Is it a DVD or CD, Gray?

Old school vocal style. "Can't Let Go" still gets heavy rotation on the station I sometimes listen 2.

Peace.

It is a Live DVD and a bonus cd called:
Anthony Hamilton: Coming From where I'm from live and more.

It came out 2 years ago. Good stuff.

He is one of the few (probably the only) new acts I actually dig to some extent. I got three of his albums.

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I find him really underrated because he's in Jermaine's camp but his last cd and debut stay in rotation without any kind of filler whatsoever...

I've heard bits and pieces of him live and he was great with the real drums and bass. However, I've heard the same songs on the radio and they sound horrible with those damn weak ass shit hop sounding drum machines.

The fact that he brings the good music live but releases weak sounding bullshit on the albums makes me not support him at all because that is called selling out. If he can have real drums and bass live, then he needs to put them on the albums also. We can't influence a style change with good music in concert only. The albums are what are heard by radio listeners and they need to have the real drums and bass also. As for singing style, I could care less. Music is first thing that catches my ear and without good music, even Prince would sound like shit.
