Remember, Timbaland also worked on tracks with both Bjork and Duran Duran, with JT participating in one of the Duran Duran tracks. Both these artists are far removed from hiphop, as is Madonna. So I dont see her getting all gangsta on us
Besides, Stuart Price is still on board for the album, as is Felix Da HouseCat. So it does look like it's gonna be a dance-oriented album, just maybe slightly more urban. Remember, the few times Madonna has worked with someone mainstream(Babyface, Dallas Austin) resulted in some great music. So we'll see what comes out of these collaborations Agreed.I seriously doubt that this is gonna be "Madonna's Hip-Hop Album" She's just adding some new sounds/beats to the mix.Stuart Price is still on board. Most likely,it will be a dance/electropop album (like Confessions) but with several R&B tracks,to balance it out.I heard that she's also adding a few rock tracks too. I think Madonna just wants to make a "mainstream" album this time around and there's nothing wrong with that. For the past several years, she's been avoiding American producers, making albums that weren't really all that commercial ('Music','American Life'),or albums that didn't cater to American music tastes at all ('Confessions').She's experimented alot during the past decade.I'm not really a fan of the producers she's working with, but I'm interested in hearing what they come up with.Madonna demands the best. She would never accept a crap song like "Wind It Up" from Pharrell. She won't do a song with him unless it's outstanding and better than the stuff he does with other artists. I hope she still does a few songs with Dangermouse. That would be a great sound for her! Hell, they should bring Gorillaz on board too.

Dangermouse, MF DOOM, Dr Dre ... YES!
Timbaland & Justin Timerlake? NO!! She is whoring herself worse than when she did her duet with Britney Spears. Where's the credibility? Seriously ... ? If there are just a few Timberland cuts it could work, but dude needs to change his drum machine. Even huge hip-hop artists like Snoop Dogg and 50 cent, only have Timberland production on 1 or 2 songs per album. Reason? All his shit sounds the same!

WHAT A SELLOUT! You were actually the second... Sellout from doing mainstream pop music? wtf? That's what she's been doing her entire career. Madonna's one of the few artists that can't "sell out" because she's always re-inventing her sound and style. And please, what about MJ working with Will.i.am? Guess he's another sell out. Madonna can't please everybody. No matter what type of album she makes, some folks will be disappointed. When she did 'Music',some fans complained that it was too slow and didn't contain enough dance material. When she did 'American Life',many fans complained that it was too acoustic-sounding,too preachy, with not enough "fun" dance tracks. When she finally did a fun dance album ('Confessions'),some fans complained about Stuart Price and his Eurodisco sound. and now that she's bringing in different producers and adding a little R&B to the mix, some fans are complaining again.

I agree. Why is it considered "re-invention" when Madonna decides to go hip-hop and with someone else, the media and music industry deems it a "sell-out" or desperation? Double standards? If this rumor is true about her going the hip-hop vibe, then I consider it a major "sell-out" for the Queen of Pop. Who am I kidding? Neither her fans or the media will call her new direction a sell-out. The problem is that she is almost ten years too late going the hip-hop route. Maybe because her last two albums have not fared so well, that she will try to reach a new audience. Sorry,it just seems a little contrived.

As far as I'm concerned, she can do whatever she likes. I'm giving her a carte blanche.

Somne of you people over-analyze things too much.Madonna is a pop artist, she always has been. It's not as if she was some underground jazz artist before, and is NOW deciding that she wants to be "commercial" For the most part, she has always made music that is in sync with the times (the exception being her last two albums, which didn't really cater to the American music market). It's not selling out,it's staying fresh and relevent.Obviously, this strategy has worked for her. She's still around. "Maybe because her last two albums have not fared so well" 'Confessions On A Dancefloor' sold over 8 million copies worldwide and reached Number One in numerous countries.I wouldn't be so quick to call that a flop.
