What inspired me to start this thread was an AMC commercial I saw last night for the 30th anniversary of Saturday Night Fever. I missed the date of the airing, but it's going to be remastered, uncut, little commercials etc. So I started to think of the tv shows, movies, and songs of that year. I know "Baby Come Back" at least would be on the 1978 list. It was #1 in January '78 (the week I was born).

Aah, I guess maybe it was released in '77 but didn't reach it's peak until '78.

These are my favorites:

2. I Just Want To Be Your Everything, Andy Gibb

11. I'm Your Boogie Man, K.C. and The Sunshine Band
12. Dancing Queen, Abba
13. You Make Me Feel Like Dancing, Leo Sayer

21. Theme From "Rocky" (Gonna Fly Now), Bill Conti
23. Rich Girl, Daryl Hall and John Oates
26. Car Wash, Rose Royce (another song I hear alot for an oldie)
27. You Don't Have To Be A Star, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr.
28. Fly Like An Eagle, Steve Miller Band
33. Easy, Commodores
35. I've Got Love On My Mind, Natalie Cole
38. So In To You, Atlanta Rhythm Section
39. Dreams, Fleetwood Mac (didn't get introduced to their music until the mid to late 80's)
40. Enjoy Yourself, Jacksons
41. Dazz, Brick
51. I Wish, Stevie Wonder
52. Don't Stop, Fleetwood Mac
53. Barracuda, Heart
54. Strawberry Letter 23, Brothers Johnson
71. Star Wars Theme-Cantina Band, Meco (love it, cheesy fun)

93. Boogie Nights, Heatwave
94. Go Your Own Way, Fleetwood Mac

There are probably four of the favorites that I didn't listen to back then, but discovered years later. There are some songs on the original list that were left off that I'm familiar with but don't really like. Then there were others I had no idea about the lyrics or beat.

Also,"Disco Inferno" didn't chart until 1978,if I'm not mistaken.Interestingly, this song was actually recorded and released in 1976 but went nowhere until it was re-released as a single in '78,due to it's major exposure in the 'Saturday Night Fever' film.
