Watch out for Salem Al Fakir !

This is one guy to watch out for this coming year, Salem Al Fakir.

Singer, song writer and a whizz on the instruments (all instruments on his debut album are played by him apart from the horns, drums and congas).

Might not be your cup of tea, it's not really mine but it's bloody good.

It reminds me of the singer/songwriters of the 70's, there are some Prince like moments though he's got a sound of his own.

A really refreshing change to todays music.

Don't be fooled by the name, he's a Swede.

There's 4 tracks at myspace, check them out.

He comes from a really musical family.
I've played with one of his brother some times.
Salem's whole album is great.Very diverse and soulful.

I totally agree.

Did you see him in the Manpower ad last year ?

("Jaha, jag trodde du skulle vara tjockis."
"Kommer du från Manpower ?"
"Nej") biggrin

I see you are a fellow Stockholmer. English myself but lived in Sthlm for 5 years.

Is your band Da Silva playing any gigs in the area soon ?
